L&C EMD SW900 #92 was on the front end of Train 17 on this day in April, 1999 as the crew switches
cars at the Norfolk Southern interchange in Chester, SC. This engine was rebuilt by Republic Locomotives
in Greenville, SC with 645 power assemblies and re-rated to 1,000 horsepower in the early 80s before
coming to the L&C. The decal under the numbers on the cab denotes the L&C's 100th anniversary, celebrated in 1996. All nine L&C-owned units carry them. (Joseph C. Hinson)
