I am a sucker for buddy cop shows. In fact my two favorites at the moment are the now defunct due South and The Invisible Man.
They kick ass. Both have an Italian bald guy, I wonder if that the real reason I love those shows Hmmm.
The guy on the left is Ray Vecchio ( David Marciano).
The guy on the right is Benton Fraser ( Paul Gross).
Set on the mean streets of Chicago, Due South premiered on the CBS network in September 1994 and lasted three seasons.
Constable Benton Fraser (Paul Gross) is a polite by-the-book Mountie from the frozen North who is paired with Ray Vecchio (David Marciano), a wisecracking Chicago cop with a flexible sense of morality. Brought together in the windy city by a mysterious murder which has personal ramifications for both men, these unlikely new partners must find a common ground amidst overwhelming differences.
Joining them is Diefenbaker, Fraser's dog, who is part wolf and also happens to be completely deaf.
The guy on the left is Robert Hobbes (Paul Ben Victor).
The guy on the right is Darien Fawkes (Vincent Ventresca).
Darien was a small-time thief, his criminal career was ironically interrupted by being caught in crime he (mostly) didn't commit. Darien was sentenced to life in prison to escape this Darien agreed to be a guinea pig in a secret, government experiment. Because Darien's own brother is the head scientist in the experiment, Darien believed he was basically safe.
A gland that secretes a mysterious substance -- Quicksilver -- was implanted at the base of Darien's skull. The Quicksilver secretions enable him to become invisible at will, but they unexpectedly also degrade his higher brain functions, unleashing his dark impulses and pushing him towards insanity.
Robert Hobbes is Darien's partner at The Agency. It's not a love-match: Hobbes is definitely a "company man," and, even though he knows his country doesn't always do the ethical thing, he's more than willing to get his hands dirty for the cause.
