Nightz
Blue Moon
Just as the darkness fell,
I took a breath and held it still.
For in that tranquil sentient,
All the world took pause.
The place had no boundaries,
Everything had the same glow.
Inhale the night and call on the spirit of life.
Hold on with your eyes wide,
To catch the great beam,
That illuminates from within and without.
In the dark and quiet all is as simply put,
Into one thin band that is the spectrum of eventide.
Blow gently the breeze that sings to your soul.
Lend it the tune, which seals the every breath you take.
Speak softly to your heart,
Know it is in perfect peace.
Drive on, drive away on the sands.
Flow into the circle that winds around the shadows of the universe.
I would lift up my eyes to see there is a world that is quite the same as day.
As the moon rises there is brilliance about the clouds.
It is the same as the thoughts of your mind that is muddled by dreams.
I would see the clear glow around the circled orb,
And believe in all that can be.
I see the blue glow that sings my heart to tears.
All the bluz sing me to peace,
And give me strength.
I know where I've been,
And know where I'm going.
In the entire moon there is no greater place,
Than that of knowing.
Where all your dreams live.
I'd lend to you a lesson to be learned by the fullness of the moon.
That when the moon is bright,
Let your heart feel the shadows of your spirit.
When the moon is blue, sing.
Blue moon you saw me standing alone.
With out a dream in my heart.
Cry the tears of your heart,
So you can be full again.
Be like the moon,
The shadow of my heart.
I would face the day with a song in my eyes.
In till the next blue moon returns.
Thunder Road
It was dark and misty, the dew of cold fall air hung in the deep shadows of night. The only glow was held by the signal of the red stoplight. It's fractured image shone faintly on the hood of the coupe. I was along for the ride. I had not known what the night held for me. But I was young and a drifter on the street at night. Longing to be somewhere, longing for someone to know me, to find some legend my life could shape into memory. I sat still, listening to the sound of the blades scrapping fine drops off the windshield. Into the foggy night the motionless streets fell silent, as a hush!
All the night was around me like the scent of fresh grass before dawn. Leaning my face out to the breeze and soft mist upon my long hair. It was good and clean. My hand slid on the frame outlining the features of its electric design. Flames of blue white held my pulse, and the midnight blue was reflected in the night. I did not know what made the sound. Or what made my heart shudder. It was the thunder!
It was the turn of a key, and a roar of the motor, that shook my eyes away from the dreaming night. Had I walked into a dream, or was I wide-awake for the first time in my life? What was real, was it the power? It was something I could never have, the knowledge of the unknown. I was just a girl and this was romance. It was not a kiss that set my heart on fire, but the spin of the wheel onto the night. The light hit green and we sped down the Broadway. On past the darkness to catch the end of the storm. Out into the black on the back of a crackling whip!
I had not known that I knew my deepest thoughts that night. If I could ride the lightening. I would have braved it all. For the moment when time stops and you are yourself. From that moment on I had not to fear the day or the loneliness of the night. My heart still pounds at the roar of thunder. I cannot go the limit, but I can feel its flame. Its flame rises high in my life and leads me to brave all the trials life may pass inn my way. I still feel the need when the midnight fog finds me on the road. To remember my youth and the lesson of thunder road!
