The COIPS Monmouth Swap meet
held Saturday, June 28th, 2008
The COIPS 2008 Spring Swap Meet was held in conjunction with the Monmouth Chamber of Commerce "Pottery on the Square Event" on Saturday, June 28th, 2008, in Monmouth, Illinois. COIPS along with members of The Blue and White Club, The Sleepy Eye Club, and The Red Wing Collectors Society attended. Activities included a terrific Swap Meet, pottery throwing demonstrations, impressive window displays of rare pottery pieces, and an appraisers tent. Newer members noted that on this special morning many horse trades and sales were made between exhibitors as the sun cameup. As usual, we experience a real nice turn out. Many special pieces of stoneware now have new homes. A REALLY GREAT GET TOGETHER FOR STONEWARE AND POTTERY COLLECTORS ON A REALLY NICE DAY.
Can't wait 'til COIPS Swap Meet 2009 ! ! !

COIPS Monmouth Springfest

The COIPS 2007 Spring Swap Meet was held in conjunction with the Monmouth Chamber of Commerce "Pottery on the Square Event" on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007, in Monmouth, Illinois.
COIPS, and members of The Blue and White Club, The Sleepy Eye Club, and The Red Wing Collectors Society were in attendance. Activities included a Swap Meet, pottery throwing demonstrations, impressive window displays of rare pottery pieces, and an appraisers tent.
Special thanks are extended, once again, for the outstanding job at planning and organizing by our Officers and Board and to those involved in the day's
displays and activities, and to the Monmouth Chamber of Commerce. All the hard work by everyone is much appreciated ! ! !

Auction and Membership Update
Thanks to the efforts of the many members who consigned items to our 2005 auction, as we ended up with close to 100% improvement in sales. The quality of the auction pieces was also vastly improved. With a little more improvement we can get the auction back to where it use to be a few years ago. So don't forget to save a couple of good pieces again for this years auction. Also club membership is on the rise. In the last 2 years we have went from 186 to 341 total members from 19 different states. We will be putting out some more flyers and doing some advertising in the antique newspapers to help bring in new members. The Board has worked very hard to bring back the swap meet, so bring something to show, sell or trade, there should be lots of stoneware for sale so do not miss this C.O.I.P.S. club event.
