Lost Love

No hate, no mind,
No anger, no spite.
I put down the phone,
In a dazed sort of light.
Tears flowed too freely,
As I wept myself dry.
I gathered my thoughts,
And asked myself why,
I fell for your love,
And allowed mine to grow,
When only years later
I've got to let go.

Learn to forget him
So many say,
If only they knew,
It gets harder each day.
     Still, I can't  hate you,
     For hurting me  so.
     You taught me so  much,
     Before you let  me go.

To say I won't miss you,
Would be a mistake.
To say I don't love you,
Would be a lie.
To say I need you,
Is wrong, I know.
So listen my friend, ex-lover,
Thank you, and goodbye.
