Kamala is known to many students of Paramhansa Yogananda for her
books, The Flawless Mirror and Priceless Precepts. Both are available
from eastwest.com. Kamala also served as the leader at the SRF Richmond
temple for many years.
She met Yogananda in 1925, and spent the next 27 years as a close
disciple. She passed away on November 29, 1997.
The following are excerpted from "The Flawless Mirror" and "Priceless Precepts" published by
Crystal Clarity Publishers.
"I learned many precepts from my Guru by observation. I noted how he
greeted people with a friendliness and warmth that divinely included
everyone. His smile and expression showed equal regard for all."
"Eighteen days after my Guru's Mahasamadhi I recorded the joyous
notation that Master appeared to me. 'Master here - seeing him so clearly!
He came into the room and blessed me and spoke to me. I remained quiet
in his loved presence, in the wondrous contentment it brought me. Later, in
my morning meditation, the fragrance of unseen roses pervaded my room
when I began Kriya.'"
"We are in our Guru's sight even when our own spiritual eyes may not yet
focus. It was at the time Lahiri Mahasaya first met his Guru, Babaji, that he
learned his life had always been in his Guru's thought and care, and not
limited to one short earth-span of existence. This memorable meeting is told
by Paramhansaji in his Autobiography and describes the Guru's Divine and
eternal friendship for the disciple."
