"I hope they are going to get what they always
want from a Sharpe book, which is a good adventure
story. As for people who discover Sharpe through the television adaptation, I think they
get more
action in the books because military action is very expensive to film, mainly because of
the cost of the
extras. I think theres also more depth in a book, simply because of the constraints
of a two hour script,
so the books can offer more historical detail and background."
