“PLESSKIYE ZORY”

Student Folk Dancing Ensemble

Polesie is a fascinating, ancient region, where hundreds of years ago lived Slavonic tribes of Radimichi and Plyane. The Region of forests and rivers, blue lakes and impenetrable marshes. Age-old oaks and fir-trees preserve and give from one generation to the other the spirit of freedom, love and devotion, audasity and mischief, the spirit of people now among old and young people live here round dances, and guadrilles, lyavonikhas and polkas, ancient Belarusian folk plays.

A scarlet day break (dawn) rises over Polesie and fog, having torn off the lakes and rivers, gets high up in the sky and spilles over fields and meadows with motley colours of a rising sun. Nice girls will run on the banks of the River Sozh, put then rushniks (towels made of flax) on the grass and will dance their unusual folk dances. The dawn of Polesie will tremble and its golden rays will twine the girls round and dance with girls their round dances. The heat will sink seeing this beauty and you a quail of Polesie a crane of Belarus or a swan of Russia will follow the dancing girls. Drunk with a tender kiss you will put an embroidered Kerchief on your shoulder while dancing.

The ways of this wonderful dancing ensemble have spread over a wide area from the Arctic Ocean to the warm waters of the Black Sea. The Alps and Altai, the plains of Siberia and the hills of Denmark saw and head this ensemble. The conquerors of space, Russian, American, French, German, Czech, and Ukrainian people met this ensemble with Howers and smiles. The family this company is friendly and multination, its soul is a ballet-master Oleg Koval, the Prizewinner of the World Youth Festivals, Prizewinner of the Belorusian Youth Union, the chief producer of the International choreographic Festival "Sozhski Round Dance", Honoured Figure of the Belorusian Culture, he was awarded with the Pedagodical Council Diploma of the New York's schools.

If it where possible to absorb all wonderful that have been created by mankind if a man could sing and dance, all that was created by our ancestors then there would be no place for evil in our hearts. High spirits and joy would be the embodiment ofthe man living on the planet.

Have a good time and smile, applaud, sing and dance with us.

Invite us, we are glad to meet you.
