History

The band Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids began in 1989. Brian Warner, soon to be Marilyn Manson, began reading poetry in The Squeeze, a local bar in Florida. Warner saw this as a place to voice himself and his opinions. Two albums were released by the Spooky Kids, The Family Jams (1992) and Refrigerator (1993). Warner discovered Stephen Bier in a night club, who would later become Madonna Wayne Gacy.

MEMBERS: Marilyn Manson, Madonna Wayne Gacy, Gidget Gein, Daisy Berkowitz, Olivia Newton Bundy was replaced by Gein, and Zsa Zsa Speck was replaced by Gacy

1990 

The drum machine Manson used in prior recordings is replaced by a human being, Sara Lee Lucas.

1992

Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids is shortened to simply Marilyn Manson.

1993

In 1993, Portrait of an American Family (1994) was under construction. Gidget Gein was released from the band due to lack of skill, and Jeordie White, three year friend of Manson, and long time Spooky Kid candidate was introduced into the band as Twiggy Ramirez.

1994

Portrait of an American Family is released. Sadly, Twiggy had nothing to do with the music of the record.

1995

Before Smells Like Children (1995) was recorded, Sara Lee Lucas left Marilyn Manson because Manson set his drums on fire and he got insulted. Kenny Wilson was auditioned by Manson and Ramirez before Lucas leaves, and shortly after is asked to join the band. Kenny Wilson became Ginger Fish. Smells Like Children is released, and work on Antichrist Svperstar (1996) begins.

1996

Half of Antichrist Svperstar is recorded, but differences between Manson and Berkowitz occur, and Berkowitz walks away. Zim Zum is discovered, and takes his place. Antichrist Svperstar is finished later that year.

1997

Remix and Repent is released, and The Long Hard Road out of Hell is recorded for the Spawn soundtrack. Mechanical Animals (1998) is in the works.

1998

Mechanical Animals is completed, but immediately after the band has problems with Zum, who cannot remember the tabs to any songs, and so cannot play them. He is released, and Manson and Ramirez go over all the work Zum did and Twiggy replays it himself. John Lowry is introduced into the band before The Dope Show video is produced as John 5.

1999

The Last Tour on Earth is released, including Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes, a track from Marilyn Manson's next album, In the Shadow of the Valley of Death.

2000

In the Shadow of the Valley of Death is completed. Manson had cut himself from humanity to finish the record, of which 100 songs had been written for. Manson is also producing a film, Holy Wood for 2000-2001.
