05/27/98 - NME - Cocaine Socialism, a b-side from the single for A Little Soul, has stirred up a little controvery with the Labour Party. Steve Mackay says Jarvis wrote the song shortly after the Labour Party tracked him down while he was on holiday in New York last year and asked him to support them in their election campaign. Jarvis apparently told the party representative to "piss off". After reading the lyrics of the song, a representative of the Labour Party said she did not even understand half of it, and that Jarvis is entitled to his views. In a recent article with NME Jarvis told the magazine that he has always voted Labour, but feels it isn't appropriate for himself or the band to advertise it, It's not appropriate, in the same way that it's not appropriate for Tony Blair to give awards at the Brits and stuff like that. To me it just stinks of, 'Come on kids, I'm hip'."
05/26/98 - Track listings for A Little Soul have changed. Northern Souls and Like A Friend are no longer the b-sides and have been replaced with Cocaine Socialism and That Boy's Evil.
05/21/98 - The single for A Little Soul has been pushed back yet another week. It is now scheduled to be released in the UK on June 8th.

After agreeing to perform at this year's Tibetan Freedom Concert in Washington D.C., Pulp, Radiohead and The Verve are banned from touring and releasing material in China. A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in London has said that the aforementioned artists "have no right to intervene in the internal affairs of our country" and that their "works would never be welcome in our country". - Courtesy Select.

There are to few Pulp pages on the net and news is scarce. bringing the news to you is my priority and will get regular attention. So check this page most often for updates.
