Neon Ballroom starts out with the track Emotion Sickness in my opinon it was a great way to start. Emotion Sickness is a brillant song with all sorts of manic orchestral explosins combind with the rock that silverfchair is known for. If to put it in a catagory with other songs of rock origan the only song that comes close to Emotion Sickness's Brillance would be The Smashing Pumkins Tonight Tonight.
The next Track is Anthem For the Year 2000. Anthem is very rock and very silverchair.not much to note here although it does kick ass.
The 3rd track is one of my personal favorites, Ana's Song. Being a former Anorexic I thank Dan for writing it. It's beautiful I believe it's Silverchairs First love song but it doesn't mean it's sappy and it doesn't end without rocking out at least a little.
Song number 4 is Spawn Again. Anyone who has the Spawn soundtrack would remember Silverchairs colaberation with the group Vitro entitled spawn. Well the guys loved it so much they decided to do a whole new virson of it. It's alot less Techno and has some new lyrics. very cool!
Track 5 Miss You Love is actually not a love song at all. Infact it's more of an anti love song. Intrestingly enough it's a waltz very pretty but the lyrics seem vengeful. Leave it to Dan to give us a beautifull song that has hateful lyrics.
Dearest Helpless has a neat sound to it. I find the guitar riff will stay in your head for days. It's got the whole silverchair vibe we all know and love.
track 7, Do you feel the same, is another basic rock song. It has a pretty cool guitar solo too.
track 8 is called Black Tangled Heart. it's a hard song to explain I gues it's somewhere along the lines of untitled. I like it alot
Track 9 is Point of View. It's another pretty basic rock song.I's good but in my opinon its not very memorible.
Satin Sheets reminds me
alittle of Lie to Me form Freak Show.It's got some interesting lyrics to
like "Wears asaturn bracelet, lined with cocaine
coins."(note
to all silverchair fans cocaine is kind of the cold sorecream of Neon Ballroom)the
song itself is has a punk vibe very cool.
Track 11 is Paint Pastel
Princess.This one is another one of my favorites. lyricly it's very complex
although it hardly makes any sense. I love the guitar part in this
one it's very pretty.
The last track on the album is Steam Will Rise. It's a very intresting song. The way the guitar sounded reminded me of Orgy although thesong did not.It also features Dansdog sweep.(or so the inside cover says)
The album has a whole is
truely unique and I love it. I'd encourge anyone to go out and by a copy
of Neon Ballroom.
