Of course, the Neckbones haven't perfected their art without the aid/influence of other bands. What other bands? Oh, well...
Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain breeds folk with rock and adds a heavy Southern accent. Big influence on the 'Bones since both bands hail from Oxford, Mississippi.

Replacements
Ah, the 'Mats. The Neckbones take that rough, garage sound and make it rougher. They also add more sex and stuff to it. Well, I asked Tyler 'bout the Replacements after a show, and he said, "I like everything they ever did." Certainly can't blame him. Click on the picture to visit Skyway, a very extensive 'Mats page.

Rolling Stones
These guys influenced the Neckbones? No f'in duh. Every rock band since 1960-something sounds like the Stones. The Stones ARE rock music. Dave was commented as especially appreciating Some Girls because of its three-chord work ethic.

Iggy and the Stooges
The Neckbones' sound hails almost directly from the Iggy masterpiece that is Raw Power. Also, the Tyler's vocal squeals bring back that Iggy noise.

New York Dolls
This is the band that the 'Bones are most like, in my opinion. Same themes, same guitar/piano sound... but our boys don't like make-up so much.

Hmmmm... since we're on a page dedicated to some kind of a mix of (rock) music, how 'bout some MP3s?
