A little snippet for those of you who want to know what Dropt is all about.

Bio/Members
Hailing from the state of Alaska, the five members of dropt have relocated to Portland, OR in hopes of furthering their musical careers.
dropt’s pallet includes Mr. Bungle-esque prog rock, Devo style oddness, and a few flavors of straight ahead aggro. A perfect balance of aggression and melody, while at times introspective and purely silly. Since dropt does not rely on being a purely metal band, their styles pogo often. By using bold style changes they weave together a new and broad tapestry of sound, as they twist the music into its own shape and feel. Their intentsity will give your adrenal gland more than enough to keep it satisfied, all while they work within their own warped reality.
Singer Shawn Graham’s vocals range from deep howls to car crash screams with butterfly like whispers. The lyrics with their odd story-like themes (murderous clowns, unnatural mannequin love, excessive pill taking and the ever reoccurring childhood nightmares) compliment the distrubing symphony that is dropt.
Liberal use of distortion/effects help dropt’s two guitaris (Adam Moore and Roger Emerson) create the dissonant landscape that they dream of in their slumber. Their differing musical backgrounds come together to create a vast soundscape, while still complementing the other’s feel and style.
The strong musical connection between dropt’s drummer Kyle Novak and bass player John Mitchell give the songs an extremely solid feel. As with any project the backbone is the rhythm section, and these two work together to bring about a heaving mass of driving beats.
The band formed around Christmas of 1996. dropt has released a full length CD in 1999 and a 6 song EP in 2000 on a self-owned label, “Excessive Use of the Force Records”. While in Alaska, dropt opened shows for many bands, including punk rock legends D.O.A, Epic Records recording artists Modest Mouse, Sub Pop Records recording artists Murder City Devils, and Roadrunner Records recording artists 36 Crazy Fists, among countless others.
