Bio Page

First and foremost, I'm a Mother.

After working at home for several years, I found that the world had computerized. When faced with re-entering the work-force, I found I didn't fit in anywhere. What to do?

After much research, I came to the conclusion that I could learn every program there was (because each job ad asked for experience in a different program), OR I could learn to repair the computers that everyone else needed to run those programs. At the time, it sounded a whole lot easier. What did I know?

A year and a half later (so I'm a little slow, I was also taking care of six kids) I had a certificate and a headache.

I got lucky and got a job as a computer and Internet support technician at a telecommunications center. I've been here since March 1996 and really like my job. I moved into answering questions sent in by e-mail and working on the E-mail Team Help Desk. What a dream job! All day long, I got to tell people how to do their job, and they didn't get mad at me!

For a while I answered the Webmaster mail. People ask Webmasters some interesting questions!

Then, I spent time on the Quality Assurance Team in the e-mail department.

Now, I've gone full cycle and am back on the phones. It will be interesting to see what the future holds.

The "Future" seems to have arrived. We are starting a new technical support by CHAT and I am on the new CHAT team!

I didn't realize how long it has been since I updated my bio page. I was a supervisor in the Chat and Email department for 1 1/2 years before leaving that company. Since then, I have worked for a travel wholesaler and setting up new accounts for a well known delivery service. Now I am at home on disability. Life has taken several turns in the last few years, all of them interesting.
