01 August 2001 brought a Mayday call about a 7-month old Cocker mix pup whose family was moving to Puerto Rico and could not take Lady. Lady arrived around 6 p.m. and we soon discovered this was a pup who would not be ignored any more! She had spent the last five months of her little life chained to a tree in the back yard!
My "hard and fast rule" about No Indoor Fosters went right out the window when Lady arrived! She is an athlete for certain! It took her all of three minutes to jump onto the bail of hay and leap up to the railing, then walk the railing to the gate and jump down -out of the yard! She immediately let it be known that back yards were out, and fences meant nothing! She quickly became an indoor baby! Much to the dismay of the current indoor residents of The Realm! :D

![]() Lady is simply overflowing with personality! She loves attention and being with her human more than anything!
She is willing to be outdoors if you're with her, but cannot take temps below 40F or over 85F. And she's really not pleased with over 80F either! :D Coming back indoors on a warm day sends her right for the A/C vent where she spreads her belly over the vent until she's cooled down. She'll probably do the same when it's winter and heat's coming from the vents!
![]() Lady is about 14" tall and 17 lbs.
But don't let that charming little face lead you to believe she isn't the Alpha in her own mind! She's a determined little girl! ;o) Lady has been spayed and proudly shows off her tattoo!
She's not fully house trained, yet -we're still working on that! ;o) Lady spends her nights in her crate with her favorite toys and heads right for the door and her morning potty break. Then it's inside for some water and chow and back out to finish the potty break.
After a couple of hours of play inside, she's ready for a "nap" back in her kennel. She loves to chase and retrieve whatever you throw, but after about the third time, doesn't want to give the toy up.
She gets along well with most other canines, but purrbies bring about barking and sometimes chasing.
Lady was adopted by a wonderful family on
