Welcome to The Village Kitchen!
![]() It's so nice to have you here! That's Billie, momentarily distracted from her welcoming duties in the Courtyard by The Resident Canine Terrorist, a tree rat who really doesn't like dogs at all!
Take a moment to look around and listen to the bird songs before stepping into the kitchen. There's always something cooking in the Village Kitchen; more often than not, it's something for the fur kids, but we have some pretty tasty human food, too!
I'll be adding more here (hee hee -and everywhere!), but today time is running short and I must be off to other duties in The Realm.
I've kept several trees that have decided to grow in the Courtyard small by heavy pruning in the winter and several light "haircuts" during the growing season.

An elm tree that decided to grown within ten feet of the porch. Every Fall I prune heavily and every Spring, the Wild Child just goes nuts with branches sprouting every which way!
![]() Fairy Child >>
This little tree has been growing in that spot for over twelve years. It's been this small size for nearly its entire life.

![]() And of course, our most welcome Resident Black Snake! It's a rare treat to see our friend out in the open!
Spring 2001 brought field mice into The Realm for the first time. Oh, there was a mouse or two every now and again, but this was very different! There were lots of the little gray critters scurrying around The Village Kitchen Courtyard. Three days after noticing the little critters out in the courtyard, we discovered our Resident Black Snake had returned and brought two buddies! Needless to say, the field mice left for safer quarters. ;o)
