Characters of the Ludy Universe
When the Grogginghatten Defenders traveled to the Ludy Universe, they encountered a number of people there. Many of these people were the Ludy Universe's counterparts of people they know in their own universe. In each case (barring one; see below), the differences between the "normal" version of that person and their Ludy counterpart was amazing.
The following files give a brief description of people from the Ludy Universe, and how they compare to their "real" counterparts. There may be Ludy Universe Counterparts of many other people from the "real" universe; however they were not encountered during the Defender's visit.
Ludy People
Even though the NAA has numerous supervillain groups working for it, a number of supervillains are actually members of the NAA's Special Forces units and thus under direct government control. This includes Captain Patriot himself, who is the Supreme Commander of the Special Forces, in addition to being the president. The NAA considers its supers to be "above" the supervillain groups they employ.
Captain Patriot
In the Ludy Universe, like the "real" world, Captain Patriot was the greatest success of the US's WW II Super Soldier program. However, in the Ludy Universe, things went differently. After the war, he and several other surviving Super Soldiers formed the Patriots, a special group designed to protect the US "from any threat". Over the next four decades, the Patriot's strength and power grew dramatically. Finally, World War III broke out, giving them the opportunity they needed. A Nuclear Bomb was detonated in Washington DC, devastating the capital. The Patriots seized power and ordered a retaliatory strike on the USSR, blaming them for the attack. By the end of the war in 1990, the US had annexed both Mexico and Canada, forming the North American Alliance. Much of Europe, the former USSR and China were reduced to rubble. South America and Africa were sliding into anarchy. And the NAA reigned supreme.
After that, the NAA turned inwards. The Nazi Killer Sex Death Hate and SNAKE were both destroyed, their troops added to the NAA's Special Forces. Many supervillans joined the NAA under an offer of amnesties in exchange for services. They often found that the deal was beneficial.
Captain Patriot is an egomaniac megalomaniac bent on world domination and protecting the US "No matter what". He has no morals and no scruples. There is nothing he wouldn't do to advantage himself further. He is also quite truly off the deep end. He has become obsessed over time with finding and eliminating the remaining superheroes that are still defying him.
Captain Patriot looks almost identical to the "real" universe's Captain Patriot, save for a goatee beard.
Captain Patriot's profile.
Captain Hero
A former 1996 Olympic gold medallist for wrestling, Captain Hero volunteered for the NAA's Super Soldier experiments. So far, he's the greatest success of the project. So far. Captain Hero is about 180cm tall and of a muscular build. He has short-cropped black hair and blue eyes. As Captain Hero, he wears a brightly-coloured red, white and blue costume, complete with patriotic cape.
Captain Hero is, well, an idiot. He likes to constantly remind everyone of the three I's - Intelligence, Intensity and Integrity. He will often ramble on to villains, allowing them to escape unharmed while he rants. He's not well liked by other members of the Special Forces, but the media adore him. He is extremely loyal to the NAA. After all, they're right. And their leader is a True American Hero.
Captain Hero's "real" universe counterpart is yet to be located, his true name is unknown at this time.
The Defenders (aka The Destroyers)
The Destroyers were a bunch of small time super-villains who were approached by the NAA government with an interesting offer. They could become agents of the NAA government, working to stamp out resistance forces and opposition to the government. This basically allowed them to commit mayhem in the name of law and order, and get paid for it too. The Destroyers jumped at the opportunity. Re-named the Defenders, they are considered by the resistance to be one of the biggest threats to freedom. Captain Patriot regards them as upstanding examples of the NAA's superhuman Special Forces.
The Defenders' profile.
Alec Morgan/Blitz
Alec was a normal college thug until one day he was accidentally "zapped" by an experimental particle accelerator. The accident somehow gave him super powers, and Alec decided to use them to get rich quick. He and three others formed the Destroyers, and set out to get fame and fortune without working for it.
Blitz is short-tempered, violent and lecherous and enjoys blowing things up. He enjoys simply using his powers to destroy things. He has no qualms about using his powers on normal people, if he feels that he's going to get something out of it. His only fear is Kate; he's afraid that if he says what he wants to about her, she'll kill him.
Blitz is the leader of the team, but gets very little respect from them. He knows this, and generally lets them do what they want.
Blitz looks nearly identical to his "real" world counterpart. The only difference is in their costumes; Ludy Blitz doesn't wear a shirt under his jacket and prefers to leave the front open.
Blitz's profile.
Lewis Maddoc/Draco
Lewis Maddoc worked in a zoo, dealing in venomous reptiles and potential combat applications thereof. One day, he was accidentally bitten by one of his research subjects, an irradiated Kimodo Dragon. The bite somehow gave him super powers. After hearing about Blitz, he tracked him down and offered to work with him. Blitz agreed, and the Destroyers were formed.
Draco is a quiet, scheming man, and is usually detached from the rest of the group and its squabbles. He is secretly scheming to depose Blitz as the team leader. However, he sees the Defenders as a stepping stone to more important things.
Draco looks identical to his "real" world counterpart.
Draco's profile.
Mystic Ninja
The Mystic Ninja came to the NAA as an agent of the North Korean resistance, and was sent to assassinate Captain Patriot. However, he betrayed them for a considerable amount of money and immunity from prosecution. He was given a job in the Defenders as a spy for Captain Patriot to keep an eye on them. Unfortunately, since then he's gotten somewhat lazy and used to the easy life of the NAA's superhuman special forces.
The Mystic Ninja is lazy, greedy, self-centered, self-important, lecherous and a habitual liar. He enjoys playing the other members of the Defenders off against each other. For emergencies, he's got a bag full of hundred-dollar notes, and a Brazilian passport.
The Mystic Ninja wears a somewhat different outfit to his "real" world counterpart. Rather than his DPRK ninja suit, he prefers a rubber shut with molded in muscles, codpiece and nipples.
The Mystic Ninja's profile.
Kate Tank
A spoilt brat, Kate was pampered all her life by her mother and uncle (who were both members of the NAA's special forces). She joined the Destroyers to give herself a hobby, and to put her titanic strength to work. She was the first member of the team to suggest going over to the NAA's side when it was offered. Now she's enjoying life even more, as she gets to break things and get paid big money for it.
Kate is a cunning and ruthless, while also being quite vain and self-centered. She cares nothing for the other members of her team, and sees them as expendable assets. She uses her mother and uncles' influence as a way of getting her way in places she wouldn't normally influence.
Kate wears a two-piece costume with wrist guards and knee-high boots. She has a tattoo of a skull with wings (the symbol of her uncles' special forces unit) on her right shoulder.
Kate Tank's profile.
The Resistance
When Captain Patriot took over the government, many Superheroes tried to fight back. Unfortunately, the NAA had it's armies of Special Forces Soldiers, Elite Super-Soldiers, Guardian Robots and their own Supervillains. Many of the supeherheroes were killed or captured by the government and locked away forever in the Fortress. A few remained free, however, and continue to fight to free America from the NAA's tyranny.
The biggest problem these groups face is many of them are made up of the youngest and most inexperienced superheroes. Many of them have no idea how to fight an underground war against the government. Usually they try to incite riots, steal money from banks and attack the occasional Special Forces patrol, but the resistance is yet to achieve anything noteworthy. The situation is not helped by several higher-ranked members of the resistance who try to find non-violent solutions to every conflict.
Recently, things have changed for the resistance, apparently making them much more effective. Over the course of three days, the resistance destroyed a Special Forces weapons factory, a Special Forces barracks and a Guardian Robot factory. To make things worse, they liberated hundreds from the Fortress and resoundingly defeated the Defenders and Captain Hero in combat.
The Hero Formerly Known As Dr. Protector
Dr. Protector was considered for many years to be the greatest hero on the planet. When he was not fighting supervillains and saving the world, he was trying to bring abut world peace, end hunger and make the planet a better place. He wore a mask to hide his identity from those who would try to stop him, such as SNAKE and the Nazi Killer Sex Death Hate.
That all ended in 1995. The NAA invaded his home country of Bogorovia with the aim of capturing or killing him. While the country was captured, he managed to escape. He traveled to Groggighatten, where he formed a resistance movement to overthrow the NAA and restore democracy. He now refers to himself as "The Hero Formerly Known As Dr. Protector", a reference to his fallen status from hero to villain.
THFKADP is known for his wisdom, humility, generosity, honesty and integrity. He has noble ideals, but tries his best to live up to them. He disdains violence, but realises that sometimes it is necessary to achieve their aims.
THFKADP looks nearly identical to TVFKADD. His armour is a lighter colour, and lacks the cape.
Dr. Destructo's profile.
Alice Jones/Nitro-Gen
Before she gained her superpowers, Alice Jones was a relatively normal college student. An attack on the college by the Destroyers caused an explosion in one of the college labs, which she happened to be in at the time. She was accidentally doused in a strange chemical that gave her super powers. She decided that she wanted to get even with the Destroyers (now the Defenders), and joined the resistance.
Alice is basically a good person, but flies off the rail a bit whenever the Defenders (particularly Blitz) are concerned. She spends a lot of time encouraging people to rebel against the system, inciting riots and the like. She has an unerring tendency to sprout political babble through amegaphone in the middle of riots.
Alice looks nearly identical to her real world counterpart. Her costume is more covering, and she doesn't have the colored streaks in her hair.
Nitro's profile.
Megabee
Rashid Apunawhati was a member of the NAA's special forces who volunteered for the super-soldier project. The scientists in charge of the project decided to test a new version of the super-soldier formula on him. The formula didn't work quite as planned. While he gained great strength, his bulk increased even more dramatically. Also, he grew a pair of small insect-like wings, contrary to all expectations. The experiment was deemed a failure and he was to be disposed of, until he was rescued by THFKADP. Megabee (as he now calls himself) joined the resistance to stop the Super Soldier program.
Megabee is something of a silent loner, but is still intensely loyal to THFKADP. He believes that the NAA and Super Soldier program must be stopped. He does not like to fight, however, and will only attack if strictly necessary.
Megabee looks identical to his "real" world counterpart.
Megabee's profile.
Twinkletoes
Twinkletoes appears to be identical to his "real world" counterpart.

Dr. Gronk
Gronk was exiled from his home on Giant Talking Monkey Island for his political and philosophical beliefs. He came to the NAA to use his genius to aid the underground resistance against the government of Captain Patriot. He met THFKADP, and the two of them agreed to work together, believing that their pooled intelligence and knowledge could be put to great use.
Gronk is intelligent, pacifistic, calm, patient and curious. He also, for some unknown reason, speaks with a British accent. He believes that through science, not violence, the resistance can achieve victory over the NAA government. He is also a non-smoker.
Gronk is physically identical to his "real" counterpart. He wears a long white lab coat and glasses.
Gronk's profile.
Not everyone encountered in the Ludy universe was a supervillain or member of the resistance. Some were actually just normal people who happened to get caught up in the middle of the fighting between the forces of nasty and nice. Of course, there were a few people who because of certain factors were vital to one side or another.
Another Dimension Man
Another Dimension Man was raised by his father to be a Buddhist monk. His father taught him that all violence was bad, and that a single act of violence could bring the world into disharmony (his father also said a lot of other silly things, but may have been high at the time). When AD Man's powers first manifested, he swore never to use them. He felt that sending someone to another dimension was the worst thing he could ever do to someone, worse even than killing them.
AD Man is eternally calm. He spends most of his spare time meditating. If confronted about using his powers for good, he sprouts some pseudo-Buddhist gobbledygook and then goes back to meditating.
AD Man has a shaved head and wears orange monk's robes and sandals.
