Notes : This class of vessel was originally designed as a modified D'Deridex. Its design and production were started by the two noble houses Khellian and Rehu, but after the first two vessels, cost overrun started to get out of control. That was when the Empirical Family stepped in and agreed to take over the already finished vessels and construction of the next three. The family had started to rebuild a place for itself, even though it no longer held any place in the Romulan government, it held alot of political power through its contacts.
The ships were so heavily modified from the D'Deridex that they were finally given their own class name. The Emperor chose to allow it to be called the Khellian Class, this allowed the Khellian and Rehu families to gain honor and the Emperor to gain favorers. He further kept the first two vessels named for the noble families, the next three he named himself.
These vessels have given the Emperor even more political clout and he now adds to these ships adn created a Fleet loyal to him. With a major push in the Senate and using all of the deals they could muster, the Empirical family had the Khellian declared the only non Praetorian warship that can enter the home world system. This has created alot of strife with the Praetorian Galae, but it was to be expected.
