Combo Set # 2

This set came about as a result of looking at Ken Baker's Big W Pacific Island tropical course, a course I could see was special and captured a real feeling of being in that kind of environment. After realizing I was seeing something new and different that I liked with the textures, I then saw the green and realized I had to start playing around. I really liked Voyen Koreis' green in Bohemian Forest so I thought I'd try playing with it to make it the right color. So, that, along with a fringe I can't remember where I got it, makes up this set, along with my usual compulsive adjusting of Ken's textures to where I like them. I've also included his bunker which is perfect for this type of course. In addition, I've taken my heavy rough from my set #6 and altered the coloring to suit, just so there's a heavy rough if you need it. BigW used a stock heavy.

This is a tropical set for sure and you should be very careful what you put alongside these textures. Notice in BigW how the palms echo the same colors as the fairway and green.

I've included this set because I really like playing Ken's course with these textures, and, as I've felt rather bored with JN lately, this is a revelation. I guess when you are dealing with a visually static medium like computer golf, variety is the spice that keeps one interested. No matter how good a texture, you can get tired of it.

So, to be clear of what is in this set:

Tee:  Ken's tee, very little changed, maybe a little less contrast.
Fairway : same as above
Light Rough: Ken's, color slightly altered and a little blurring added to take off some of the high contrast and reflections.

Heavy Rough: My heavy rough from set #6, color given more blue tones etc.
Fringe:unknown, but from something I've collected somewhere, then altered, of course.

Green: Voyen Koreis' Bohemian Forest Green, made to look drier. I warn you now, if it drives you nuts to have trouble seeing the aiming arrow, stay away! Or you could play with the color yourself. I chose to leave it and live with it. (Aesthetics before function?)

A final note:
The pics below don't really do justice to this set, as a lot of subtleties are lost or distorted by the lower color.  I strongly suggest downloading the set and viewing it in the game or designer.

Basically Ken's tee, toned down brightness.

This is so gorgeous a course. It really looks like something I've never seen before in JN5

Here you can see the way the trees and textures match to create a great overall effect.

.Green close up. I apologize for the never ending problem of the disappearing aiming arrow. It is hard to see here, but I live with it.
