Kicks. Gear. People love em. Kids skip school and save their lunch money just so they can stand outside of foot locker to sport the new Jordans, or any other shoes. Do shoes and gear make you play better? Make you taller, faster, more attractive to the opposite sex? No, no, no, and unfortunately, no. But they do make you feel a little bit more connected to the player. Here is a section of the page where you can find out about Stephon Marbury's kicks, gear, and other stuff to make you feel more " connected"

AND 1

One of Marbury's most famous endorsement is with And 1. Only a few days after the 1996 NBA draft, where Stephon Marbury was taken as the 3rd pick, Steph signed for Pa.-based basketball apparel and sneaker maker AND 1 to endorse a new line of basketball shoes. The at that time three year old basketball apparel company had already made its mark in the market with its trash talking T-shirts with slogans like, "Your game's as ugly as your girl" and mesh shorts. In November 1996, Steph was ready to introduce a new sneaker, "The Marbury". It was built with a lateral stability feature which help keep wearers on their feet. It also has several other special construction features to support Stephon's ankle breaking moves. The Marbury - AND 1 partnership is an interesting one. To break into the shoe market they wanted one fresh new face to build around. They chose Stephon and created "The Marbury." "Stephon is an AND 1 player," said Jeffrey Smith, marketing director for AND 1. "He plays with a fire and tenacity. He's about basketball and we're about basketball - just basketball. Also, it's easier for kids to relate to a 6-2 guy than a taller guy. He's the ideal role model." Whether AND 1 and The Marbury can make any dent into the competitive shoe market will depend a lot on Marbury's on-court performance and his appeal to teenagers - the primary target market for most basketball shoes. Presently, The Marbury is selling well, accounting for 25 percent of AND 1's January-April orders. For his part, Marbury liked the idea of being AND 1's only shoe endorser.

ESPN: THE MAGAZINE COMMERCIAL

We all know about the hilarious ESPN the Magazine TV commercial ads. What better way to promote it then to have 'Da Kids' in it? In their ad, Kevin and Stephon are sitting on a couch side by side( Stephon is closer to the screen and Kevin is behind him) and they have their arms spread out. They both start out smiling in this commercial. Here is the TV script of the ad.

Stephon: ESPN magazine is gonna by phat.... but please no swimsuits

Kevin: Yeah and no one-pieces

Stephon: No bikinis

Kevin: No thongs

Stephon: None of that

(Look at each other and say together): All nude

Stephon: Tastefully done

Kevin : But definitely, all nude.

Stephon: That's Important

Kevin: Very important

Stephon: Yeah

Kevin: To be tasteful

Then they both wink and click their tongue at ya.

OTHER STUFF

Foxy Brown Video

Remember watching that Foxy Brown Video " Big Bad Momma"? Remember Foxy's fairy God.......(dude, who granted her wish) who was dressed in a cute blue pimp suit with sunglasses? That's Stephon! He decided to help Foxy Brown out by being in her video. This is what's happening. F oxy wants to go to the ball but she can't because her evil step sisters are giving her all this work to do and she had nothing to wear and no ride. So, all of a sudden, poof, Stephon appears on a chair next to her and asks" Yo Fox, why you ain't at the ball yo? And Foxy says something( can't remember exactly) about having nothing to wear and no ride. So Steph says, " Yo, I'll fix you." And then you know how the rest of the video starts. Foxy arrives at the ball in a nice convertible wearing a sheer yellow outfit and meets Bill Bellamy, etc. We all know it, we all love it.

Rock n Jock B-ball Game

Another MTV event that Stephon participated in is the Rock 'n Jock basketball game. In this game, he was teamed up with several other celebrities, one of them beign his fellow team mate Kevin Garnet. The full details of the game aren't available right now but will be soon. Stephon's team lost and he didn't really play his all out ( you can tell he was trying to get a little goofy). At the end of the game some singer/rapper started performing and Stephon was dancing ( at least, trying to dance ) to the beat. It was SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!
