FISHING:
The camp is located on one of the best spots on the Edward River and has a large
natural boat launching area. A re-stocking program by Deniliquin RSL Fishing
Club has seen over 200,000 Murray Cod and Yellowbelly fingerlings released into
the Edward River.
SWIMMING/CANOEING:
A sandy river beach is the ideal spot to launch your own canoe or join the many
locals who regularly swim in the river. These activities are not part of
the camp programs.
BUSHWALKING:
Across the river lies theTuppal
State Forest which offers exciting bushwalking for the experienced bush
walker or bird watching enthusiast. Work is in progress to mark a walking/cycling
trail from Deniliquin through the forest areas to Mathoura. School groups can
take advantage of a series of work sheets that are available for a 5km loop
of this trail through the camp and adjoining reserve.
CYCLING:
The camp has push bikes and helmets for supervised groups. Holiday makers are
encouraged to bring their own bike if possible so they can enjoy the unlimited
cycling opportunities in and around the camp and Four Post Reserve. Hire charges
apply.
OUTDOOR INITIATIVE ACTIVITIES:
Equipment and instructions available for Archery, Low Ropes and Problem Solving
elements including Prouty's Landing, Land Raft, Trolley
Walk, Aussie Switch, Four Way Tug-of-War, Spiders Web, Wild Woosey, Platform
Stack and Slip & Slide. An adventure playground and
a circuit of low balance type elements are suitable for organised activities
or free time. Poles are available for bushcraft, raft making or hut building
activities.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
The hall can be used as a classroom or for group activities and games. A photo
copier and white board are available. There is a 9 hole bush golf course (balls
and clubs available or bring your own). Other activities include a photo trail,
treasure hunt with buried treasure, campfires, camp oven cooking, night hikes
and possum spotting, mud wrestling, sand volleyball, horseshoe throwing, balls
etc. Juke box hire can be arranged.
