HUNTING -
All hunters must be licensed. Licenses can be purchased at most sporting goods stores. Contact the Ministry of Natural Resources Information Center, Room M1-73, MacDonald Block, 900 Bay St., Toronto, Ontario M7A 2C1 (416) 314-2000 for more information
You first must take a 15 hour course. When you are taking the course book for the exam. After you pass the course you get a certificate, then with your certificate you go to write the exam you have booked. The nearest place to write the exam is Maple District on Major MacKenzie (905) 832-2761.
The nearest place to get the certificate is Applewood at Dixie and Bloor Call Mr. Robert Ossowski at (905) 278-0316.
You must have completed your 15 hour course successfully and the exam successfully before you can get a license.

FISHING -
Resident of Canada (been here at least 7 consecutive months) , between 18 and 64 years - need an Outdoors Card to purchase a fishing license. Cost is $6.00 including GST and is valid for 3 calendar years. Applications are available from local Ministry of National Resources offices and license issuers. Residents who need a license right away can get a temporary permit and card application from license issuers.
Resident fishermen have two license options - the annual license for $ 15.00 including GST and the annual Conservation License which is $ 7.50 including GST. The Conservation License has lower catch and possession limits.

Geese are the aristocrats of the waterfowl. After hunting these game birds you can try for Mallards, Blacks, Pintails, Teal and Widgeons. Your birds will be plucked, cleaned, kept chilled ready for your home trip. The camp has comfortable bedding and is oil heated. Good meals are supplied and a Finnish sauna will help you to relax. The guides Cree Indians know the area and have amazing skill for calling geese. Available air service and organized flights make the camp easy accessible.

Weight must be kept at 40 lbs. per person. Ammunition may be brought across the border duty free. But check re amount.

Come for 5 days in Sept. and early Oct. in one of the Cree
Indian Goose camps. Bring your warmest clothing,
waterproof/windproof garments, hip waders. gun (12 gauge shotgun
recommended) a light spinning rod, camera and film. Available at
camp ammunition for 12 gauge shotguns only, cigarettes, cigars
& soft drinks. Fly or drive to Timmins. From there hunters
will be flown to our village, then continue by boat to the camp.
Following lunch, it is off for the afternoon hunt, followed by 3
full days of hunting. Five day schedules - Sept. 1 to Sept. 5,

Sept. 13, Sept. 13 to Sept. 17, Sept. 17 to Sept. 21, Sept. 21 to

LICENCE. Resident hunter require the Ontario Gun Licence. THE MINISTRY REQUIRES THAN AN OLD HUNTING LICENCE OF ANY STATE OR PROVINCE BE PRESENTED WHEN APPLYING.
If you have not kept an old one, an affidavit to the effect you had one is acceptable. A Duck stamp, available at any Canadian Post Office is required at a cot of $ 12.00. We will have both licences and duck stamps available. To avoid delay please purchase the above before arriving at camp if possible. Baggage Allowance is 60 pounds so limit your ammunition to not more than 4 boxes. ALL TAXES are extra where applicable.

Spend your vacation fishing and enjoying the scenery. Fly in day trips for fishing. Housekeeping cottages all fully equipped, 4 pc. bath. You need only food, towels and personal items. All caribou hunting camps are owned and managed by the Inuit people. All camps are operated by a professional staff. We recommend that you transport your gun in a rigid hardshell case to protect it during flight to camp. You may also want to bring a padded soft shell case to protect your gun during the trips by boat to and from your hunting territory. We also accommodate the bow hunters. Once the animal is down our guides will field dress, quarter and pack it back to camp where it is hung in a screened meat house. Hunters may not want to take all the meat back and may want to give it to their guides. However as caribou is considered one of the finest wild meats, you may want to select a few choice pieces which we will properly package so they arrive in optimum condition. Their is no restriction about bringing caribou meat or other game into the US. visitors are welcome to cast a line during August and early September when the fishing season overlaps with the hunting season. Lake trout, brook trout and Arctic char are the principal sport fish. Every year the Provincial Wildlife Department issues a limited number of caribou hunting permits to the outfitters so reserve early before the supply of permits runs out. Non residents of Quebec must show proof of previous hunting experience in the form of a current or expired license from their province or state. Quebec residents must present their firearms safety certificates. Climate in late August and early Sept. ranges from 50 degrees Fahrenheit to freezing and in the middle of Sept. from 45 degrees to below freezing. Snow squalls are frequent and there is always a chance of a blizzard. If charter planes are grounded, hunters should be prepared to come out a few days later than scheduled. Layering of clothes works best. The following is a suggested list of personal clothing -
