WELCOME TO "THE VOICE OF GOD" HOME PAGE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAGE IS TO TEACH, SPIRITUALLY GUIDE AND HELP YOU IN FINDING YOUR WAY AND GROWING IN THE LIGHT OF GOD AND HIS LOVE. WITH THE END TIMES SO NEAR WE MUST ALL TAKE ACCOUNT OF OUR LIVES AND HOW WE LIVE. WHEN ALL THE THINGS OF THE EARTH ARE DUST AND WE ARE NO LONGER IN OUR OWN PHYSICAL BODIES -WHERE WILL YOU AND I SPEND ETERNITY ? THESE ARE QUESTIONS WE ALL MUST ASK OURSELVES AND FIND THE ANSWER. TO .IN THE WORLD TODAY IT HAS BECOME APPARENT THAT THE ONLY THINGS THAT MOST PEOPLE BELIEVE IN ARE THE THINGS THEY CAN SEE AND TOUCH. WHAT THEY SEEM TO FORGET IS THAT GOD IS CREATOR OF ALL THINGS; AND THAT INCLUDES YOU ! WE JUST DON'T EXIST FOR A TIME ON EARTH AND DIE AND CEASE TO EXIST. WE GO ON IN OUR SPIRITUAL BODIES AND LIVE ETERNAL.... PROVIDED THAT WE HAVE FIRST ACCEPTED CHRIST INTO OUR HEARTS AND LIVES AND HAVE TRIED TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES TO LIVE THE WAY GOD TAUGHT AND EXPECTS US TO LIVE ACCORDING TO HIS TEACHING AND COVENANTS HE MADE WITH US WHEN HE SENT HIS SON TO DIE ON CALVARY'S HILL FOR ALL THE SINS OF MANKIND.

Evidence Of God In The World :

Hebrews 13:1-5

A. Without the influence of God in the world, chaos would reign

1. Example: the days before the flood Genesis 6:5-7
2. Today's society is heading in the same direction
B. Jesus came to show us how to live like God
Hebrews 1:3 John 14:6-7
C. But evidence of God must also be visible in us
- as imitators of Christ
D. Hebrews 13:1-5 contains five ways that God's
influence on us can be seen by the world

1. Brotherly Love 13:1

A. There is no greater evidence of
the influence of God than for the people
of God to genuinely love each other
John 13:34-35
Mark 12:30-31
2 Corinthians 8:1-5, 8-9
B. The churches in Chalmette and Montegut
are the result of brethren loving each other
(I'm sure the same is true in California, Missouri, etc.)
C. We have little trouble expressing love for
the brotherhood financially
D. There are some dangers we face
1. "Head-hunting" -- the desire
to keep the faith pure tends to make
us eager to track down and eliminate the
heretic and the man whose faith has
gone astray (Contending For The Faith)
2. Stern and unsympathetic treatment
of the man whose faith has failed
a. Note how Jesus treated sinners John 8:11
b. Note how Jesus treated the "righteous" Matthew 23
E. Brotherly love combines an earnestness for the
faith and a kindness towards the fallen

11. Show Hospitality 13:2

A. A second evidence of the influence of
God among us is the way we treat strangers
("hospitality" literally means "love of strangers")

B. There are several stories when hospitality
to men turned out to be hospitality to angels
(Abraham; Lot, Manoah; Gideon)

C. Romans 12:13 1 Peter 4:9 Matthew 25:35
D. I don't see this practiced much any more
1. Are we too afraid of harm that
we have neglected this command?
2. There should never be a visitor
who fails to have an invitation for
lunch or an offer to help
3. When was the last time you had
a member in your home?
4. Those widows worthy of help
were hospitable I Timothy 5:9-10
E. Hospitality demonstrates the influence of God in your life

III. Sympathy For Those In Trouble 13:3
A. God's influence is also seen in how we treat those in trouble
B. Hospitality basically responds to situations
which come to you; this is seeking those who need your help
C. Prisoners in the first century were ill-treated
-- depending on friends for even the basics
(like food and clothing)
D. Christians remember that God sought us out, John 3:16
E. This is more than sending care packages
-- this is going to be by their side
Hebrews 10:32-34

IV. Purity In Marriage 13:4
A. If anything is needed today to show the
influence of God, it's sexual purity
1. You know of the depths our society is sinking
2. Our homes are the backbone of our country,
and it's fractured
B. Marriage, as God designed it, is honorable
C. Anything other than his design, will face
his judgment
1. Adultery
2. Sexual immoral (all sexual
relationships other than his plan)
D. One of the greatest demonstrations
of God's influence is when broken vows
are healed
E. Let's work to keep marriage pure

V. Be Content With What You Have 13:5
A. The last thing Christians should focus
on is worldly possessions
Hebrews 10:34 1 John 2:15-17 Matthew 6:24
B. Does the world see God's influence
in your desire for material things?
C. The Bible is full of teachings against this sort of thing

Conclusion
A. Evidence of God in this world is up to you
B. Sure we have the Bible, the stars, etc.
C. But the real message that God lives today
is how you reflect his image
