THE ANGELS IN OUR LIFE
FRED LEROY TANQUARY
Born: September 20,1912
Died: February 26,1975

This is not a typical pose for my dad, he would rather be relaxing in front of a lake. He actually did not have enough time to do that very often. He was left by my mother to raise 6 children, which I think he did very well.

He worked hard as a cement truck driver for Ready Mix Concrete and later for PreMix Concrete in Denver, Colorado. He was forced to retire after having a heart attack.

He had a very serious drinking problem but it did not keep him from loving and supporting his children. He was the best and he is missed by all of us but he will never be forgotten.

A DAUGHTER-IN-LAWS VIEW OF A GOOD MAN

PAPPY (that was what I called him) was the best father-in-law a newly married girl could ask for. He had a way of making you know he cared about you as a person and where you came from didn't matter. I loved and respected him for the sweet person he was. It really saddened me to hear of his dying.

When Jim and I got engaged, he made me feel like a part of this great family, even before I was actually a member of it. The one thing that I regret with his passing on was that our children did not get to know him or how special he really was. Our kids will never get to know the man I came to love.

IN REMEMBERANCE

He was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska, was educated there and moved to Colorado in 1930. His father was French and his mother was part Cherokee Indian. His complete Cherokee heritage is not known because of the loss of records in a fire in Red Cloud.

He was married in Johnstown May 1, 1934 to Blanche Lynch, from whom he was later divorced. While they were married, they had 6 children: Joan, Eva, Joyce, Jim, Fred, and Will.

He was a truckdriver for Pre-Mix Concrete Co. for 20 years until retiring in 1970. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union Local 13.

He was laid to rest in Arvada Cememtary on February 28, 1975.
