A Little Something about our Brother by SHeDeV....

Jeffrey John Deters
4/19/74 - 9/21/98
Jeffrey was a son,a brother,and an uncle.
He had a great sense of humor and
a warm,kind heart.
To one, he was as a father.He helped raise
this little one as if he were his own,with no
concern as to what others thought.
Jeff would do anything for anyone
in a blink of an eye
Jeff was only 24 years young. A victim of a
cruel,heartless, motor vehicle operator.
Struck down and left to die alone.
Jeffrey is greatly loved and will be
sorely missed ..........

Sad news
Our Father, Darrell Deters, has joined our Brother Jeff. Dad was a cancer victim. Ill for only a short time, Dad passed away on Easter Sunday 1999. Our only solace is that he will no longer suffer..... Didn't someone say your a special person if you pass away on Easter? Well he was certainly special to us.

Just an update...
The man that hit and killed our brother was arraigned Thursday November 12,1998. He was charged with four felony counts including; Manslaughter in the 2nd degree, Vehicular Manslaughter, Criminally Negligent Homicide, and Leaving the scene of a fatal accident. This is just the beginning of a long process but at least there is some relief knowing that people can not get away with such utter negligence.It's good to know that the justice department actually does work.
Well, We've been through the gruelling task of reliving everything via the trial - one year and two months later. Here's a recap......

how to put the ending of life?
death is a phrase we use
but death cannot express the emotions,the bitter tears, the hopes,
the dreams, the wishes
someone so well loved, so close, has perished
not by war or combat or any such thing as valore
but died by something we do not know
is there a greater pain than having a loved one perish?
without the knowledge of his passing?
why must we hurt so much?
the pain wont cease when we know
but the knowing will ease our minds
death
so many things,so many
in one word
a life taken so young, so close to home, so needlessly
the grief, our grief, so unbearing
they say, we say, this should not have happened
we cant cast blame although we want,need to
all it comes down to is death
our meaning, our defintion
death

When nothing makes sense
and everything is blurred
love finds it way
and somehow i understand
i know why it is
and what must be
no matter what arises
or what happens
love will always
find its way
and lead us to our place
our fairytale
when we looked into your eyes
we viewed your soul
and saw the love you had to give
it was everything you were
and because of it
we will always love you
for you have given it to us
in a world full of despair
you've given us all hope
a dream
a desire for something more
something better
for this you will always be special
we all love you more than you will ever know
if there was a word to describe our love
surely it would only be spoken by god
for no person could be loved
and missed more than you
in our hearts we carry you
and the essence of love
in its pure and simple form
all we had to offer you was ourselves
and our love
though both are simple
we promise they were true
even as i read this
i think of how to describe to you
something i hardly understand
but i must tell you
so i close my eyes
and let my heart guide my words
perhaps the tears that fall from our eyes
can be a show of our love for you
and how much it means to us
to have had a chance
to both know and love you
believe love will find its way
and show us the answers
to the questions being reveiled
we promise you that we will always love you
and hold you close in our hearts
we know you loved us
we could see it in your eyes
and in the way you touched our lives
we promise we will never forget it
for out of everything in our lives
we have earned and aquired
love is our most valueable possession
and the memories
we have with it
will always be our fondest
life is truely a mystery
a puzzle waiting to be solved
although one might be able to solve it alone
the answer will be found easier
with another
we had only begun to discover life
and experience all of its mysterys
together in the embrace of your love
we will all remember you
and love you forever...................
