Welcome

Disney's first
fully computer animated feature length film hit the big screen
during Thanksgiving
of 1995. Pixar and Disney joined to make a land mark in Disney history
as well as one
of disney's biggest money makers. This was an incredibly slow process and
an extremely difficult one, considering computer animation is still a fairly
new and unexplored technology. On a good
week the Pixar
crew completed about 3 and a half minutes af animation. To put that in
perspective,
Toy Story is 79
minutes long. The detail needed to make Toy Story seem as real as possible
is
phenomenal. For
example, Sid has 15,997 hairs on his head Woody has 12,384. Each of the
120 trees on Andy's
block have about 10,000 leaves on them. They didn't just do big
noticeable details
either, the animators spent about 15 hours creating nothing
but hardwood floor
scratches!
