April

[April at X-mas 1996, click to see better image] April's Story
Here is an Image of my Beautiful April at Christmas 1996, she is now going to be 15 in March. April has allergies and can not eat any cat food with SOY in it, unfortunalty that is most cat foods. She sometimes is on a diet of rice and boiled chicken that the vet recommened to help her upset "tummy". She loves "no name" cat food and Wiskas (both don't have soy). Right now she has a new treat for Tartar controll from wiskas which I hope will help her teeth out. A have recentaly gotten her a special "toothbrush" and "thoothpaste" from the vet which helps to clean and keep infections out. Our Vet recommned brushing Apy's teeth to help her over all health, she also said we should start Tuli and Donavin even though thay have great teeth. The Cat "home dental plan" is called C.E.T. I haven't started yet because April has to have her teeth and mouth looked at before hand to make sure she doesn't have sore gums or teeth. It will take sometime to get Apy-kin into the brushing routin but our vet asured us that once she does it will stick (the tooth paste has a fish flavor so you're kitty will find it "yummy", the instructions say to also reward your cat with a little treat after the brushing. Tuli

[Tuli in 'her' basket 1997 winter, click to see larger image] Tuli's Story This is Tulip my 6 year old redish-brown spotted tabby. She is a very small cat (a midget) who is about the size of a 4 month old kitten. She is timid around strangers, but very affectionet and hyper when she is with us! Tuli was one of my foster kittens, we got her (and siblings) when she was about 4 or 5 weeks old, the kittens had been living in a garage without human contact and where quite wild. They all warmed up and became wonderful cats (all adopted). Tuli however was still way to timid to go back and be adopted, we tried to sociolize her with other people but she was just too shy, so we adopted her!! She is a wonderful healthy and very active kitty. Tuli loves toys and everything in the house becomes a toy to her. She can leap 6 feet in the air and loves to sleep in boxes and baskets (see image). She need lots of TLC and thinks she is the "baby" of the house. She loves Donavin but wishes he would listen to her when she wants to sleep (see Donavin images). Tuli also likes to "sing" she makes very cute littl e "murr", "muurp", "purrt" and "purrmurmew" songs when she is playing (or wants food/TLC)!! . Donavin

DONI's Story
Donavin is a 3 year old siamese cross, also one of our foster kittens. Donavin and his siblings where very ill for some time and on medication, they are all cured and have been adopted, for some images of his sister and brothers visit my Past Foster cats & Kittens page. Doni is a very active little boy. He loves attention and plays with everything. Doni rarely stops purring and is almost always on the move. He loves to play with water and drinks out of the tap. He's also one that likes to eat everything, he's tried peas, corn, bread, potaoes, and many other people food (when we wheren't looking). Donavin also loves to jump but can't jump as high as Tuli, he's a real toy freak and has a few cat made toys that he adores. He get along with Tuli and April although he's a little rought in play right now (being a kitten is hard work!) When we had a black out and where using a flash light to light up our room Donavin saw the light on the celling and spent 30 mins jumping for it (we weren't moving it until the end :) ) He's very intelegent and finds lots of intertainment for himself, us and the other kitties. He is facinated by Cesille and likes to watch her when she is out for paly time. If you would like to know more about Donavin visit Him @http:/www.geocities.com/Hreartland/Ranch/7821/Cats.htm#doni, Here are some more images of adorable Donavin!!

Cesille
Coming in the NEAR future, basic care of a africian Pygmy Hedgehog!! Our Beloved Cesi passed away
Click on Cesille's name to see how it is pronounced!! Here is our sweet little ball of prickles, Cesille!! Cesi is a year old afercian pygmy hedgehog, she lives in a large metter by half a metter cage and has "play time" in the evening where she comes out for a run and some treats + TLC. Cesille has many plastic toys that she loves to climb over and push around in her cage, she has two plastic tubes (in cage) and many paper tubes (cut open to make sure she doesn't get her nose stuck) and other various toys (a log to climb on, newpaper/towles to borrow in, etc) that she plays with when she is out with us. Hedgehog eat meal worm, good quality cat food, and small amounts of vegies, fruits, meat and cheese (ie: 2 peas, corn, cooked hamberger or chicken, strawberry, cream cheese). She eats about one teaspoon full of DRY cat food a night and between 7 and 10 meal worms each night, her treats are given every so often with her food. Cesi also takes cod liver oil in her food to help prevent ragged ears and dry skin. Cesille loves to run around and is always making happy snuffling and sometimes even "purring" sounds. She doesn't cost alot to keep and is a very sweet little girl!! She doesn't mind being help but perfers to run around on the ground, although she has sat one my lap a few times and watched TV. . If you would like to know more about Cesille visit Her @ http:/www.geocities.com/Hreartland/Ranch/7821/hedgie.htm, Here are some more images of adorable Cesille!! I will be posting a file soon on, basic Hedghog care with many images!

Shamrock Sean

[ Image coming soon!!! Feb-Winter 1998] (Sham is now 3-4 years old!!)
Shamrock is a 5-6 month old male hedgehog. He is very tiny and thin at the moment, we have had Shamrock now for about 4 weeks, he is a sweet active little fellow!! I got Shamrock free from a lady who add lost (or had little to begin with) interest in him, Sham's orignal name was "You", he was living in a hamster cage, and then a storage bin (I never so it so I have no idea what it was like). As far as I can tell Shamrock had no toys, no dishes, and never had any meal worms (part of a hedgies diet). The information sheets she gave me which had come with Shamrock when she bought him in September had many misinformation, I believe that is what she was basing her care on!! I STRONGLY recomend anyone getting a hedgehog or other pet read many books/information on them and if at all posible talk to people who have owned or own the type of pet your getting. Shamrock is now under our care, he's very friendly but doesn't like to be held :)!! Sham lives in a rabbit cage with lots of time out for play. He loves wet cat food and mealworms, I have n't tried many other treats yet. He is still eating a mix of high quality kittens and cat food [dry]. So far I have seen very little difference in male and female behaviour, Shamrock is just as friendly as Cesille, I would say he is a little faster, and much harder to watch because I Hedgie proofed our place for a much bigger hhog!! Shamrock is very curious!! I be adding more in the near futur!
