Limit Breaks
On this page, you will find a list of every limit break for every character and a brief description of how to get them. In a later update of this page there will be a description of what the attack does and what damage is inflicted. I have to warn you, before a character can learn their final Limit Break they must learn all their other limits. Good luck!
Cloud's Limit Breaks

Braver: A powerful jumping slash that attacks a single opponent. Cloud starts off with this limit break at the beginning of the game.
Cross-Slash: A slashing attack against one opponent that has a chance of paralyzing them. Cloud must use Braver 8 times to learn Cross-Slash.

Blade Beam: Shoots a powerful beam of energy at one opponent, which splits and hits all other opponents for less damage. Cloud must kill 80 enemies to learn Blade Beam.
Climhazzard: Cloud jabs his sword into one opponent, then jumps upwards for lots of damage. Cloud must use Blade Beam 8 times to learn Climhazzard.

Meteorain: Creates a meteor shower that hits all enemies multiple times. Cloud must kill an additional 80 enemies to learn Meteorain.
Finishing Touch: Creates a tornado that whisks enemies out of the battle. For bosses or large enemies, they are lifted into the air and dropped for large damage. Cloud must use Meteorain 8 times to learn Finishing Touch.

Omni-slash: An incredibly powerful attack that slashes enemies 15 times. To obtain it, see Level 4 Limits.

Aeris' Limit Breaks
Healing Wind: Aeris restores the party's HP with a heavenly breeze. Aeris begins the game with this limit break.
Seal Evil: Aeris casts a spell on a group of enemies, causing Stop and Silence. Aeris must use Healing Wind 8 times to learn Seal Evil.

Breath of the Earth: Beams of light cure the party of any status ailments. Aeris must kill 80 enemies to learn Breath of the Earth.
Fury Brand: Aeris uses her limit break to fill the limit guages of the other two characters. Aeris must use Breath of the Earth 8 times to learn Fury Brand.

Planet Protector: A temporary barrier rises to protect the party from all attacks. Aeris must kill 80 additional enemies to learn Planet Protector.
Pulse of Life: Aeris completely restores the party, including HP, MP and any status ailments. Aeris must use Planet Protector 8 times to learn Pulse of Life.

Great Gospel: Aeris summons a being that makes the party temporarily invulnerable and fully healed. To obtain it, see Level 4 Limits.

Tifa's Limit Breaks
Beat Rush: A puching and kicking combo. Tifa starts the game with this limit break.
Somersault: A flipping kick. Tifa must use Beat Rush 8 times to learn Somersault.

Water Kick: A slashing kick. Tifa must kill 80 enemies to learn Water Kick.
Meteodrive: Grabs enemy and slams them into the ground. Tifa must use Water Kick 8 times to learn Meteodrive.

Dolphin Blow: A powerful punch, with help from a dolphin. Tifa must kill an additional 80 enemies to learn Dolphin Blow.
Meteor Strike: Grabs an enemy, jumps into air, and smashes them into the ground. Tifa must use Dolphin Blow 8 times to learn Meteor Strike.

Final Heaven: A big blast of energy to finish off her combo. To obtain it, see Level 4 Limits.

Cid's Limit Breaks
Boost Jump: A jumping spear thrust. Cid starts off the game with this limit break.
Dynamite: Cid throws a stick of dynamite that damages all enemies. Cid must use Boost Jump 8 times to learn Dynamite.

Hyper Jump: Cid jumps high into the air, driving his spear into the enemy for big damage. Cid must kill 80 enemies to learn Hyper Jump.
Dragon: A powerful attack by a dragon. Cidy must use Hyper Jump 8 times to learn Dragon.

Dragon Dive: Mutiple jumping spear thrusts. Cid must kill an additional 80 enemies to learn Dragon Dive.
Big Brawl: Cid attacks a group of enemies for massive damage. Cid must use Dragon Dive 8 times to learn Big Brawl.

Highwind: The Highwind floats just above the battle and fires several volleys of missles at the enemies. To receive this, see Level 4 Limits.

Barret's Limit Breaks
Big Shot: Shoots a large ball of energy at a single opponent. Barret begins the game with this limit break.
Mindblow: An attack that drains some of a single opponents MP. Barret must use Big Shot 8 times to learn Mindblow.

Grenade Bomb: Fires a grenade that damages all enemies. Barret must kill 80 enemies to learn Grenade Bomb.
Hammerblow: Knocks a single target out of the battle. Will not work on bosses. Barret must use Grenade Bomb 8 times to learn Hammerblow.

Satallite Beam: Fires energy beams from a satallite that damages all enemies. Barret must kill and additional 80 enemies to learn Satallite Beam.
Ungarmax: Fires multiple shots at enemies. Barret must use Satallite Beam 8 times to learn Anger Max.

Catastrophe: Several beams randomly hit enemies for huge damage. To obtain it, see Level 4 Limits.

Red XIII's Limit Breaks
Sled Fang: Red runs forward and attack a single opponent for good damage. Red XIII starts the game with this limit break.
Lunatic High: Red howls, hasting himself and his allies. Red must use Sled Fang 8 times to learn Lunatic High.

Blood Fang: Red drains some HP and MP from a single opponent. Red must kill 80 enemies to learn Blood Fang.
Stardust Ray: Red makes several stars hit all opponents multiple times. Red must use Blood Fang 8 times to learn Stardust Ray.

Howling Moon: Red casts Haste and Berserk on himself. Red must kill an additional 80 enemies to learn Howling Moon.
Earth Rave: Red attacks all enemies 5 times. Red must use Howling Moon 8 times to learn Earth Rave.

Cosmo Memory: Giant fire blast that strikes all enemies. To get it, see Level 4 Limits.

Vincent's Limit Breaks
Galian Beast: Vincent heals himself and gives himself extra HP. He attacks with Beast Flare and Berserk Dance. Vincent starts the game with this limit break.

Death Gigas: Transforms into a Frankenstein-like monster. He attacks one enemy for fair damage with Gigadunk, and shocks all opponents with Livewire. Vincent must kill 60 enemies to learn Death Gigas.
|
Hellmasker: Attacks enemies with a five hit combo, and also puts curses on them. Vincent must kill an additional 60 enemies to learn Hellmasker.

Chaos: Vincent transforms into Chaos and uses 2 very powerful attacks: Chaos Saber and Satan Impact. To get this limit, see Level 4 Limits.

Cait Sith's Limit Breaks
Dice: Cait Sith rolls two dice. He then does damage to all opponents equal to the amount on the dice x100. Cait Sith begins the game with this limit break.

Slots: This works similar to Tifa's slot machine style limits. Depeding on which pictures come up, any number of things can happen.It's even possible to instantly kill any enemy, even Sephiroth. To get this, see Level 4 Limits.

Yuffie's Limit Breaks
Greased Lightning: Yuffie hits a single opponent with a quick attack. Yuffie begins the game with this limit break.
Clear Tranquility: A blue orb surrounds each character and restores a small amount of HP. Yuffie must use Greased Lightning 8 times to learn Clear Tranquility.

Landscaper: A large tremor forces the ground beneath the enemy to rise and explode for big damage. Yuffie must kill 80 enemies to learn Landscaper.
Bloodfest: Yuffie attacks a group of enemies with a series of 10 deadly blows. Yuffie must use Landscaper 8 times to learn Bloodfest.

Gauntlet: A blue vortex hits the enemy for big damage. Yuffie must kill and additional 80 enemies to learn Gauntlet.
Doom of the Living: Much like Bloodfest, except more damage. Yuffie must use Gauntlet 8 times to learn Doom of the Living.

All Creation: A huge beam of light hits all enemies for huge damage. To get this limit, see Level 4 Limits.

|
Take the buggy to Costa del Sol and take it on the boat to Junon, then find the guy in the cave. Make sure you have killed an amount of enemies where the last two digits are the same, like 211. Bring the Mythril that the guy gives you to the lonely guy in the house near Gold Saucer. Then open the small door upstairs to receive it.

Search the crashed Gelnika underwater off the shore of the Gold Saucer. You will find the limit break in the cargo bay.

When you're done saving North Corel from the train, talk to the "hut woman" in the Northwest of town. She will give it to you.

While playing on disc 2, go behind the waterfall near the pond with Vincent (he must be in your party!!). Talk to Lucrecia. Return to the waterfall in disc 3 to get Vincent's final weapon and limit break.

Cait Sith

He only has two limits! You will get it after Cait Sith kills 80 enemies.
