Here is a brief introduction of myself. Though many of the things you may have known, keep this as a reference. Remember not to forget every single detail of my life. They are all my experience, and part of my life.

1976 Nov 3rd, 0 years old

Oh, my birthday, of course you cannot forget it! Well there is nothing special worth mentioning about my birth, you know, everyone's childhood is similar. One amazing thing may be that I have already managed to sit by my own at six-month age! What a genius! Ah, onething to remind, I lived in Tsuen Wan at that time.

1980 - 1982, 4 years old

This should be the time I got into the kindergaten, I dun remember very well. I studied in the Alliance Kindergaten, Kowloon Tong. According to my mom, I have been to another kindergaten in Tsuen Wan sometimes before, but that is out of my memory. I think at the time I enrolled in the Alliance Kindergaten, I have moved to live in Sun Po Kong. Again, I am still quite ignorant about things happened at that time, afterall, I was only a small boy. I remember that because I was relatively younger than the other students, I am a bit left behind. The faces of the classmates I think I have forgotten all. Only one or two who became classmates of my primary stage I still remember. I think one of them got into the Chinese university of Hong Kong.

1982 - 1988, 6 years old

Primary time. Only half of the students in the Alliance Primary school can get into the primary school. Actually it is quite a good school. My mom told me that I have been quite confident at that time. My mom worried that I might not be able to get into the primary school, while I said, "Dun worry, I am sure that I can do it." And I did it. Primary time is full of hateful teachers. At that time I used to think that teachers are very intelligent and kind figures. However, after I have been a secondary student later, I started to discovered that those teachers just know how to tell lies and cheat primary students, I despise them. My primary school is a full day school. Everyday I have to go to school from 0730 in the morning to 1500. I think it should be quite hard for a young boy indeed. In primary five, in order to get us prepared for the examination, we have to stay after the lessons! Often I could only get back home at 1800, terrible.

1988 - 1990, 12 years old

This two year I have been in the Tin Kwong Road Government secondary school. Although I love Ying Wa College more, I still consider these two year a good experience. Being a secondary student I changed a lot, yet still I was naive and not smart enough.

1990 - 1993, 14 years old

Eventually I got into the Ying Wa College. The first year is a harsh one. My friends may be surprised to know that I failed in 5 subjects in the first term of my form three. Quite cool. But I started to get used to the environment soon and I improved a lot in the coming terms. I even got an Improvement Prize that year. In the summer vacation, I started my Judo training. And in form 5 I became the chairperson of the Judo Club in Ying Wa.

Form 4 I was in the Arts stream. These two year of HKCEE studies I started to build up my true self and I met a lot of new friends. This time should be the time I was really totally relaxed. The HKCEE Examination to me is hardly important. To me it just decided whether you can get into the matriculation or not, doing well means not much to your future.  I still remember in the study holiday before the Examination, I played Basketball everyday and I have almost not studied for any subject at all. Still I was not bad. At least I became more healthy after the Examination. One thing worth to be mentioned is that I have entered the Voluntary Army in form four. It is just like hell. Anyway, I learned a lot about the army and discipline in that.

1993 - 1995, 17 years old

This two years may be the happiest period in my life. I have participated in many many activities. I was the V.P. of the Geography Society, a member of the School senior choir, the Swimming team, the prefect board, and I was also committee members of the English society and an editior of our school newspaper. Also I passed in the examination and became an assistant coach in Judo. Of course I was also the Chairperson of the Judo club also. I learned a lot in this period and I knew a lot of really good friends. I still remember the warmth I felt in Ying Wa in those days. We often stayed at school late everyday, we just chated and chated, we talked about our future and our dreams, we shared our happiness and tears. This was undoubtedly the most memorable period of my life, and I learned the importance of friendship. We played hard and studied hard(!?) in these lovely two years, and I have done well both academically and in any other aspects, I started to build up my true self at that time. I have done quite well in the Advanced Level Examination and eventually I got into the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

1996 - 98, 18 years old

Oh, here I am now in the university. Oh, I am made mad by the completely new environment. Perhaps I have had too much expectations. To be frank I am really quite disappointed. Anyway, I started to get used to this new environment. I made up my mind that I have to make my U-life a memorable and fruitful one. That is why I became a committee member of the Japanese Society of the CUHK. I am also the Vice president of the English Society this year and the student representative of the English Dept. I was busy to dead but I was really happy in this period. At least I found myself useful now.

In the summer vacation 1996, I joined in a lot of meaningful and interesting programmes. All of them have been important episodes in my personal growth. From 15th of July to 2nd of August, I worked as a leader in the English Speaking Camp. After that, I had a ten days rest. On 14th of August, I started my work as a tour guide for some Japanese students from the Keio UniversityIt was a great experience. I failed to be with the Keio students for the last three days because I had to go to the Orientation camp of the English Dept. Being the Vice president of the English Society, I took up quite an important role in the O'camp. Again, I learned a lot in these programmes and met a lot of new good friends.

Year 2 was a harsh year. I think probably this year was the most difficult year for me. It is because I have been kind of terribly lazy throughout my secondary period and so it became very harsh for me to work hard. Anyway, I survived at last. What is worth mentioning is my summer holiday. It has been very fruitful indeed. First of all, I got a very well paid summer job in the philetic Bureau. It really gave me some money for my Japan travel plan. Then I joined the Karaimo Homestay Program organized by the Japanese Studies Dept of CUHK, and after that I went for a self travel in Japan for 10 days and I met my Japanese friends at Japan! I was too touched to be able to see them again. After the trip I was back to HK, and then I immediately took up my position as the tour guide of 11 Keio University students again.
Year three was equally tough.  I studied very hard, and eventually I graduated with a first class honor.  I felt that the efforts I have paid in the past three years have not been wasted.  I have also won a post graduate scholarship.  This strengthened my will to enter the graduate school.  In the summer I got another scholarship -- The JAL Scholarship Program. 36 scholars coming from 11 countries and places were invited to Japan to stay for five weeks, joining the Asia Forum, with the theme : Coexistence and Diversity - What do you think of Asia? What do I think of Asia?  This program is definitely the most impressive program I have had in my life.  I have met a lot of great people and I have had a lot of invaluable experience.

1998 - ?, 21 years old

I entered the Graduate school in 1998, taking the M.A. course in Applied General linguistics.  Life in the Gradute School is relatively less stressful.  This means that I eventually have more time to things that I really like.  I take up a part time job as a secondary school teacher, and I also spend a lot of time with the Japanese exchange students in my university.  I also meet quite a lot of nice friends in my M.A. Program.
