PZL P.62 is the second „Choroszy Modelbuds” model of Polish fighter design/prototype of 1939, which didn't enter into service because of war.

The kit contains very good resin parts with many excellent made details (for example very good cabin interior).

Instructions are very good in showing how to build the model. Painting option contains one P.62 in fictional markings of 123.Eskadra Mysliwska (Fighter Squadron), Poland 1940(?).

Decals are printed in good quality and contain a few polish Air Force insignias („cheeseboards”), emblems of 123.EM (white bird), white „7” and white stripes of the tail.

Well, what can I say? Model looks very good.  I recommend it for every enthusiast of WW II aviation for the rare and interesting fighter model.

PZL P.62 – short description

PZL industry began to design P.62 at end of spring 1939 under command of inz. (engineer) J.Dabrowski – the constructor of the excellent bomber P.37 Los. P.62 was to have very modern construction, air conditioned and heated cabin, full night installation and very heavy armament – eight machine guns into wings or cannons into fuselage.

During summer 1939, the model of P.62 was tested in an aerodynamic tunnel at Aerodynamic Institute (Instytut Aerodynamiczny) with very good results. Constructors proposed that the P.62 could reach speeds of almost 700 km/h.

PZL built one 1:1 scale wooden mock up of the P.62, which was accepted by the army. The Polish Air Force ordered three prototypes of P.62, two flying and one for ground tests. It's possible that some components were modelled on the Spitfire because Poland had some documentation for this fighter (Polish Air Force ordered Spitfires before the war but first Polish Spitfire Mk.I was stopped by Rumanians in September 1939).

The first flight of PZL P.62/I (first prototype) was planned for early 1940. The first fully developed P.62 was to enter service during 1942. Exact state of P.62 works at September 1939 is not known. It's possible that Germans captured the wooden mock up and some documentation. Unfortunately some of German files are still top secret. Maybe some day we may know more?
