This is an in box quicklook of the latest offering from Hasegawa. Hasegawa has chosen to focus again on a neglected area multi seat IJN carrier attack aircraft. The Koike Shigeo artwork is superb as usual announcing a kit comprising 137 parts. Plastic is light gray and scribing are the excellent standard set by current Hasegawa kits.

Several features are remarkable about this kit. First and foremost are the optional folding wings. External bracing and detailed internal wing structures are provided if the folded option is selected. The second is the very complete cockpit. Almost 30 percent of the parts are dedicated to the this area alone. Multi piece main landing gear, weighted tires and positional fowler flaps are also notable.

Canopy is 3 pieces including the windscreen, center piece and rear gunner cover. Another optional feature is a lower gunner position, something that I certainly did not realize existed on this airframe.

Armament comprises a single type 91 kai 2 torpedo. Future announced versions will include multiple gravity bombs.

Markings are for 256 attack squadron 752 flying group or the 210 flying group. The decal sheet also includes a very complete set of numbers allowing any combination to be done.
