Some people are born with an artistic talent that enables them to draw, paint and design visual wonders. Others of us can only yearn for this ability. But there is one thing which can give those of us who are "artistically challenged" some hope! It's the computer ... and a program called "Paint Shop Pro"! Yes, I'll admit I'm one of the addicts this program has produced. It provides a medium for creativity with instantaneous gratification! And I've finally got around to trying my hand at the PSP Users Group Activities! Every week or so an "Activity" is organised. The challenge is to create a graphic with particular characteristics. My personal challenge will be to try to make the graphic "Australian" and personalise it in some way!
Enjoy!

Postcard This picture of the Barron River was sent to me by a colleague in Cairns, Queensland. The Little dog is one of my Papillons, TinTin. On Mother's Day this year I went to the Botanical Gardens with Lisa and there took the picture of the Carpet Snake!

Mirror This isn't very Australian at all! I was stuck for ideas when my daughter suggested somthing for a friend of hers who is having a birthday soon! The friend adores her pet cat! The flowers, basket and kitten are tubes downloaded ... BUT ... the "wallpaper" is what I have in the main rooms of my home here in Brisbane!

Mirror 2 Now this is more like it! A basket of Australian Flowers and my daughter, Boo, at Christmas Time!

The Name Game The famous name I've chosen will be unfamiliar to you. It's the first "Lady Doctor" in Queensland, Australia ... Eleanor Elizabeth Bourne. She was appointed to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1903. The medical staff is a romanticised version which I believe appropriate to her femininity. On the bottom left is a view of the R.B.H. as it was in in her day and on the right as it is today! The colour scheme was inspired by the quotation, "I love a sun burned country...".

Photo Art 1 The goal, to produce a "work of art" from a photo! As we 'Aussies' say, "I'll give it a go!". So here is MaxDog, a Papillon owned by a friend here in Brisbane, in a pencil sketch!

Photo Art II Got carried away here and made a charcoal rubbing of Max!
|
 |
Photo Art III This Max is quite a DOG! He's full of energy, exuberance and is very, very clever! I call this one "Pop Art", but my daughter Boo says I'm wrong! What do you think?
