Five year past since Songoku and his son have beaten Cell. Satan made the people believe that he killed Cell and is now a hero for the whole world. Songohan is now 16 and goes to high school in Satan city with the supersonic cloud. He notices there is a bankrobbery going on in the city and decides to intervene. He changes in super saiyan to avoid people recognizing him. He quickly masters the robbers and then flies away. But a man noticed what happened and tells it to the girl next to him.

When Gohan arrives at school everybody is talking about the robbery and the mysterious "golden warrior". Videl, the daughter of Satan, recognizes Gohan because she has seen him in the street while talking with the other man. She remarks his clothes are the same even the badge corresponds. But Videl's neighbour soon replies that Gohan hasn't golden hair.

After the lesson there is some sport. Gohan tries to control his powers during the base-ball game, but not with great success. Videl is immediately interested in this strange boy who lives so far away from school.

Gohan asks Bulma to make a disguisement for him so that nobody can recognize him, when he saves people. Meanwhile Gohan plays with Trunks and meets Vegeta, who says Gohan should train more. Bulma made the disguisement. Songohan immediately tests it and again makes a tour in the city... as Great Saiyaman!

The next morning Gohan leaves with his new disguisement. He says good bye to his mother and little brother Songoten, who was born after the Cell game.

During the lesson Videl suddenly receives a call from the police for help. She immediately leaves. Gohan is surprised, but the others explain Videl often helps the police. Gohan doesn't want to leave Videl do the job alone and asks the teacher to go to toilet. But in fact he climbs on the roof of the school, pushes on the watch Bulma gave him and his costume appears on him. But he doesn't know where Videl is so he waits till he feels her ki.

Meanwhile Videl is fighting two gangsters. She easily beats the strongest one to the surprise of Gohan who arrived in time to see her beat the gangster. But the other one is armed and aims at Videl. Gohan intervenes takes the gun and breaks it. But the bandit escapes. Gohan catches up with his car by flying and gives a big knock on the bandit's head. He returns to Videl. Videl has never seen someone so strong and who's able to fly above all! They leave the gangsters for the police. Videl asks:"Gohan, how did you manage to get out of the class?" Gohan naïvely answers he asked to go to toilet and that's how Videl recognizes him.

Videl asks Gohan to participate to the new tournament that will be held within a few weeks. But Gohan refuses. Videl then blackmails Gohan, by saying she will reveal his true identity to everybody. Son Gohan can only accept the deal.

Son Gohan goes to Bulma after school and asks her to find something to hide his face without a helmet, because helmets are forbidden at the tournament. Bulma simply gives a pair of glasses and a turban. Vegeta appears and says he also wants to participate to the tournament. Suddenly everybody hears a voice coming from nowhere:"I will also participate!". Father?! Carot?! Sangoku is talking via the telepathic powers of Kaio. Gohan rejoices that his father will come. Vegeta too seems not to be indifferent.

Gohan decides to learn the good news to all his friends. He first tells it to Krilin, who let his hair grow and has now a daughter with C18. Then he tells to Piccolo. At home Gohan thinks he'll have a lot of difficulties to convince his mother. But his mother is so happy, that she allows Gohan to miss school for his training. The money she had from her father is almost consumed and she's certain that Sangoku and Sangohan will be able to win the first prizes.

The next day Songohan starts his training with his little brother Songoten!
