Origin of the

Eliminators

The Eliminators were originally just some extra creatures I made for my Kaiju Creations page. They weren't meant to be the villians of this story, nor did I expect them to develop so nicely into the cold blooded assassins they became in this fanfic. I'm not sure exactly why I chose them to be Trajan's opponents, nor do I remember what I was thinking when I slapped them into my story outline, they just seemed like a natural choice. While I've thus far had Trajan take on a few monsters, never had I placed him against three beasts simultaneously. One thing I WAS certain of when I first drew the Eliminators, was that they would be a tight knit group, either a gang or task force who would work together to achieve their goals.

The name Eliminators came from a larger concept I've been entertaining about the Nebulans. I always figured if they had Gigan to subjugate planets, and Trajan to destroy them, they would assign certain types of beasts with certain names based on their function within the Nebulan army. Gigan would be classified as a Dominator, mostly because he would be used to literally dominate and subjugate planets, readying them for Nebulan colonization. Trajan was classified as a Planet Buster since he was used to destroy any planets the Nebulans didn't want to bother with anymore. They were either blown up by the kaiju or forced to collapse in on itself. Either way the result is the same, the planet ceases to exist in every sense of the word. The Eliminators are another classification. Beasts created to kill any monster in the Nebulan army that causes more problems than it's worth. In a sense, I guess Serpentuss could be classified as an Eliminator of sorts, even though he was not created for the purpose of killing Trajan, only retrieval.

There are other types of kaiju the Nebulans have, other classifications, but those will be revealed in later fanfics!

Hehe, as you can see, there are a few visual differences from the original drawing of the Eliminators and what I have now.

For starters, Inkus had no feet! I always thought it would be interesting to make a weird King Ghidorah hybrid, something that was more a mutant than anything else. Not a different type of Ghidorah like Death Ghidorah or Cretaceous King Ghidorah, but a genetic mutant. And thus Inkus was born, a mass of heads, serpentine body, and horns everywhere. For the story though, I couldn't see Inkus being very effective without legs, so I gave her some. I think they work pretty well.

Ferrol went through a couple of changes as well. I eliminated (no pun intended) his tail and added two large black quills jutting from his shoulders as a defining characteristic. Other than that he remained pretty much the same.

Daimon remained the closest to his original self. I've always liked the way the left side of his face came out, which is probably one of the reasons I chose them as the villians. Daimon is just plain uglier than Trajan.
