| Questron |
119K |
Here it is, the
original Questron. If you've already played Questron2(which I posted long
before I posted this one), you may be a little disappointed in the
graphics. The game play in this one is just as nice though. It's kind of
like Ultima, but I think this series is much nicer than the first few
Ultima games. If you like those kind of role playing games, this is a must
get! Get the musket and loot some towns! What the heck, you're still the
good guy.. No matter how many merchants you slaughter! |
| Questron
2 |
160K |
Sequel to one of
the best adventure games ever made. It's a lot like Ultima, but it has a
much nicer, joystick driven interface. Basically, your mission is to make
sure the BOOK OF EVIL is never created. The graphics on this are really
nice, it's sure to please you once you figure out how to heal. |
| Racing
Destruction Set |
106K |
Racing Destruction
Set for the C64 is one of the few games for the C64 that just can't be
topped. You can pick and customize your vechicle, you can make your own
tracks, and best off all, you can use oil slicks and mines to keep that
nasty competitor off your tail. Works great with Frodo 4.0.2, should work
with yours. - Game review by H. Clayton Howell, USA, Kentucky |
| Raid over
Moscow |
44.8K |
Classic
Commodore gaming - straight from the cold war era. Fly your jet plane
single-handedly into the heart of Russia, taking out launch sites, and
saving the world from total destruction. Great game play, featuring
controversial depections of death. (Check out the screen shot!) A must for
any serious Commodore fan. - Game review by Jason Halliday, USA,
Georgia |
| Rainbow
Islands |
119K |
1-2 player,
scrolling, multi-level platform game. Sequel to Bubble Bobble although
different gameplay, for examlpe, shoot rainbows instead of bubbles. If you
lked the original, you'll like this. |
| Rally
Speed |
15.9K |
Very basic graphics.
Nonetheless, it is quite fun driving off the road, crashing and exploding
into a ball of flames. |
| Rambo |
44.2K |
In 1985 three
similar titles appeared. Unlike its rivals, Rambo called for the player to
experiment, rather than simply "charging" up the screen. As Rambo you must
rescue the prisoner, find the chopper, rescue the remaining prisoners,
return to the chopper and fly to freedom...and don't forget the knife! |
| Rampage |
37.8K |
Choose one of 3
giant, B-grade move monsters and destroy anything in sight (even your
mates). Watch out for the National Armed Forces, along with certain edible
items - they can be hazardous to your health! Optimal fun with 2 player
mode. |
| Roadwar
2000 |
95.8K |
Another classic
game for the C64. Society has basically gone straight to hell and what
remains are road gangs and towns to be looted. Don't get to close to nuked
towns at night, or else the mutants will come and disease you! However, if
your gang stands the test of time, you can save the world. This game is
really nicely done, there's even detailed road combat with other gangs
where you can board their vechicle and take them other. Works great under
Frodo v4.0.2. |
| RoadWar
Europa |
62K |
After you finish
cleaning up all the problems in the post nuclear war ravaged America, you
realise that there's a whole other continent to save! So, you set off to
Europe to clean it up too. The nice thing about this game is that you can
use the same gang you build up in RoadWar2000, just load it off that disk
image and it'll convert it to the RWE format. The graphics are much nicer
in this version as well as the interface. |
| Robin of the
Wood |
91.4K |
Fire up your 64
emulator and take a trip to Sherwood forest! Odin were the masters of
these arcade adventures in the mid eighties! Explore hundreds of screens
as Robin, rescue Marion, avoid the Sheriff, win the archery competition
and enjoy the atmosphere rarely seen in the todays' games. |
| S.A.M. |
64.2K |
Want that C64
emulator to talk? Well, let S.A.M. do the talking for you! Great little
utility with demos to get that original feel to one of the first voice
programs ever! Can use it in your own basic files too! |
| Sanxion |
46.8K |
The 64 had some
fine shoot-em-ups. While I thought Uridium was the pick of them, Sanxion
wasn't far behind! This side scrolling shooter is tight, battling the
interia of your craft is a feat in itself! Tricky and clever with some
great music and FX from the SID, you can't go past this classic. |
| Seven Cities
of Gold |
63.6K |
The game was
centered around Christopher Columbus Idea. You had to discover the new
world for Spain and map it as much as possible. Finding gold and dealing
with indians. They did a remake for the PC but took some of the best
features out. |
| Shogun |
69.5K |
Shogun takes you
to Japan as you attempt to gain 20 loyal followers; you must become the
next SHOGUN. The artificial intelligence routines for the people you will
meet in the game are still stunning and to date (1997) have not been
equalled. I kid you not! Deal with Samurai, Bandits, Peasants and Royalty
in the quest of a lifetime. |
| Skate or
Die |
176K |
Skate or Die is a
skateboarder's paradise. Along with the mandatory halfpipe action, take a
ride down the back streets (watch out for some nasty surprises though!) or
how about a jousting competition. The game may sound wierd but it is
fantastic. |
| Skooldaze |
64.8K |
Skooldaze harks
back to the days when games had imagination. Go back to school again, skip
class, use your sling shot, punch your mates and get them into trouble.
Cast as Eric you must get your report, change it so you don't fail and
avoid expulsion. School is in, so what are you waiting for? |
| Space
Taxi |
56K |
Manuever a taxi
powered by rocket fuel through obstacle courses to deliver people safely
to their destination... sounds easy, don't it? Well, think again - I have
played this game more than any other on my commodore and have only beaten
it twice from the start! Try it - what's it gonna hurt? |
| Spelunker |
31.4K |
Do you like
dark, haunted caves or mines? Or do you like O.O.P. (Object Orianted
Platform :-)? Then get & play this game from Broderbund! You enter the
cave/mine by elevator. Our fat miner/adventurer must collect energy
frequently. And beware red craters, ghosts, flying creatures and flames.
Other things which can be collected; keys, flare bullets, dynamites, extra
lives and bonus points. In game keys: Fire - Jump, Space - a kind of gun
which defeat the ghosts, F - shoots flare for flying creatures, D - Drops
a dynamite for rock piles. D64 file. Tested on PC64, C64S. |
| Spy
Hunter |
17K |
This has to be one
of the MOST addictive games in Commodore history. It is a racing game
where you drive a car down an endless highway. Blow other cars back to the
scrap heap from which they came with your guns! and bump motorcyclers off
the road to their doom. The best feature of this game is the sound
track... the ultimate tune! |
| Squash |
33.9K |
Before I begin,
I'd just like to point out this is not a game where you avoid eating the
most disgusting and vile vegetable ever to enter the kitchen! Squash
believe it or not is a sport, played indoors. Using a tennis-like racquet
your aim is to score points against your opponent, by hiting the tiny
rubber ball off any of the four walls, onto the court where he/she can not
reach it before the second bounce (though the ball must hit the wall
directly in front of you, for it to be a legal shot). In addition you must
be serving at the time to gain points. Now, there are several lines
marking out the court the first one...ok ok I'll stop with the lecture and
let you guys & girls find out when you play the game yourself. In my
humble opinion it is fairly realistic, though the graphics are simple. The
game is very easy to play and enjoyable. The cute computerised speech adds
that little extra to accomodate for the graphics. A good game. |
| Star
Quake |
147K |
This exceedingly
attractive game was certainly one of my older sister’s favourites sometime
back. It revolves around controlling a globular pygmy creature that sets
out through a starry interplanetary to collect all the constitutional
bodily-elements of its base, whilst trying to avoid deadly foes that fly
all around it at a ceaselessly pulsing rate. No nerve-shattering graphics,
but still quite good fun (with righteous gameplay)once you can be bothered
to get into it. |
| Stunt Car
Racer |
40.6K |
A must for any
gamer! This is a 1st class game. You get to drive a hot rod around a
number of elevated tracks, complete with hills, jumps and ramps. The aim
is to post the fastest time for each track AND win the head-to-head race.
Speed is not a problem. If you need a little pep simply press fire and
watch the flames fire from your engine as you hit turbo, cool huh. Or revv
the guts out the engine whilst you're being air lifted onto the track,
double cool!! Or listen and watch the sparks fly when the car axle grinds
against the edge of the ramp, triple cool!!! But the ultimate fun is
launching your hot rod off the side of the track after you've won the race
and watch as the car smashes into the turf hehehe. "I know you're gonna
lurv this". |
| Summer Games
I&II |
150K |
With the Olympics
just around the corner, it is an ideal time to download Summer Games.
Especially those of you whose country's athletes are travelling to Atlanta
as tourists! (Will Australia ever win the 100m dash?... only with this
game baby!!!!!!) |
| Super
Cars |
38.8K |
Buy missiles,
mines, shieds, body parts etc., all in the name of winning enough dough to
update your car and progress to the harder tracks. Ideal for any revhead.
And the music is excellent too! |
| Super Sports
Football |
82.7K |
Does not stand up
to the likes of Kick Off 2 and Microprose Soccer. Perhaps the only
football game where you can score a goal from your own half! |
| Super Sports
Hockey |
100K |
Supposed to be one
of the best hockey games on the C64. Make up your own mind on this one. |
| Super Sports
Ping Pong |
51.1K |
The one and only
Ping Pong game on the C64. It is so technological advanced you can play
without even even holding the paddles!!! |
| Tau
Ceti |
42.3K |
The defense
network of some planet went nuts and is about to blow up the planet's main
reactor. All human beings on the entire planet have already been
eliminated. But now you landed on behalf of the Gal-Corp on his planet to
collect the main reactor's control rods which are scattered over the
planet in the reactor's substations in several cities. After having
collected them you gotta make it to the main reactor in the heavily
defended city of Centralis to install these rods in it. Tau Ceti is in my
opinion the game with the best idea so far. |
| Temple of
Apshai Trilogy |
53.5K |
A truly
interesting Fantasy RPG game from Epyx. It allows you to play all of their
Asphai games in one neat little bundle as well as start where ever you
want in any of them. Wonder through dungeons filled with treasure(okay, a
lot of treasure is just trash :), monsters, and traps. This game is very
similar to nethack but with nicer graphics. |
| The Last
V8 |
39.9K |
Set in a post-nuclear
city, your aim is to reach head quarters before radiation poison takes
affect. Enjoyed it when I was young. However, it doesn't rate against
Super Cars. |
| Thing on a
Spring |
37.9K |
An average game,
although for me the best thing about it was the theme tune (which, correct
me if I’m wrong, sounds just a teensy little bit like the smart little
theme tune to Greg and David’s home page!). You are Thing on a Spring,
some little gewgaw that has to bounce around and complete each level - by
rescuing toys and avoiding/defeating enemies, I believe. Can be
frustrating. Graphics are clear, gameplay is average, although you might
get bored after your first try. Speaking personally, I remember not liking
this one that much when I was eight or nine years younger, simply because
it didn’t want to make me come back and have another go. But download, and
see what you think. It might be okay for some. |
| Toy
Bizarre |
20K |
Simple is
beautiful. Make the multi-colored jumping things disappear. Addictive. |
| Ultima III:
Exodus |
106K |
Exodus is the
third in the string of the Ultima and is also my favorite. To me the
Avatar thing in IV on up just doesn't work as well. In Exodus, you get a
group of four characters from 11 classes and 5 races, each with their own
strengths and weaknesses. The graphics are identical to the original, but
the music gets kind of choppy. |
| Ultima
IV |
173K |
Today with 3GB
Hard Drives storylines are often overlooked for flashy cut scenes. Once
there was a game that was different, Ultima IV. You had to build your
character the avatar in several virtues until you were ready to view the
Codex of Wisdom and live as example to the people. If you have the courage
to forsake your cut scenes and become immersed, then play this game! |
| Ultima V:
Warriors of Destiny |
628K |
This is, in my
opinion, the best Ultima of all time. The first Ultima I played in the
series, I enjoyed two whole summers of this game when I was a young one
(12/13 yrs. old). If you are even slightly interested in Ultima or RPG
games, this one is a MUST! Might not look as pretty as the current
Ultimas, however it comes with it's own unique play style. Open-play game
where you can go where you want, when you want (not a linear plot). Fight,
talk, join the good guys for info, join the bad guys for even more info,
all while trying to defeat the evil Lord Blackthorne and rescue Lord
British from his imprisonment! |
| Wizard |
108K |
Guide Wilfred the
wizard through dozens of challenging levels. Face the Shadow Lord and
conquer Rat Mountain. An original platform game which allows you to design
and customize your own levels as well. Fun and certainly not too easy to
be fun. |
| Wizard of
Wor |
15.7K |
One of the
ultimate two player games on the C64 and it's so easy to play! From a
birds eye view, you control a space soldier in a maze out to destroy some
monsters. But be careful. Many a hero has died from so called "friendly
fire", but hey, you get 1000 points! In terms of graphics, gameplay etc
it's light years behind 'death-match' Doom though heaps more fun. 1 player
optional. |
| Wizball |
47K |
This game is an
all time classic. Part shoot-em-up, part puzzle, part strategy it boasts
good graphics, okay sound and unbeatable playability. An absolute must. |
| World
Games |
195K |
Guaranteed to
satisfy all sports fans and provide hours of fun. Dive off the towering
cliffs of sunny Acalpulco or try your hand skiing the slopes of the scenic
Swiss Alps. |
| Yie Ar Kung Fu 1
& 2 |
77.6K |
When we first Yie
Ar 2 our first impression was "what the #$%^$ !!" - who in the world has
heard of a kung fu champ dodging yellow, smiling, flying, heads.. wearing
red caps?!? YIe Ar Kung Fu 1 is just as good ;-). |
| Zepplin |
15.4K |
Fly your stealth
Zepplin through deep caverns, destroying the evil bubble cities below.
(???) Okay it may sound strange but it's a really fun game. Good scrolling
action with multiple paths and puzzle solving. Very addictive! |
