Born in a seahold that sported more then its fair share of daughters, Ounyx was constantly being chased around by his many little sisters, as well as most of the other hold girls. He was considered fun to play with, even though he often sought to escape them. Always having been rebellious and willful, he struck out on his own at the age of fourteen turns with his trusted runner. During his travels he was attacked by a wild feline and given a long scar from his eye to his mouth, just missing them. Since then he's always been very wary of his surroundings.
Around age seventeen, he happened upon a green flit's clutch. Most of the eggs had been gotten to by tunnel snakes, but there were a few that still held hatchlings. From one of these came his chatty little Selfi, noisy from the moment she was born. Even during his wanderings now, she's still very hyper.

Free and willful, a bit rebellious to authority but knows common sense, wary of flighty little chatterbox girls (too many of them in his life for him not too be), often rude to those he doesn't know (a form of protection he's developed), respects dragons in the highest sense since they are an embodiment of everything he wishes to be especially now that he rides one, always tries to get Zur to lighten up just a bit except now when the blue's working his hardest to be ready for Sasiath's flight

Doesn't enjoy being teased, fairly serious dragon, dislikes extremely flighty (I use the term loosely) females almost as much as his rider...being raised with Selfi probably didn't help, has a great fondness for Shoy (rider's favorite sister), is very proud of his head crest and brilliant coloring, is training his hardest to be ready for Sasiath's flight
