SN: 273-8934-ST51 Primary Military Specialty: Covert Operations Secondary Military Specialty: Martial Arts Instructor Birthplace: CLASSIFIED Grade: E-6 equivalent -------------------- Storm Shadow comes from the same Long Range Recon Patrol outfit as Stalker and Snake-Eyes. He also comes from a family of ninjas, who he rejoined with Snake-Eyes after serving his time for the U.S. Armed Forces in Southeast Asia. While with the Arashikage family, a ninja clan that could trace its history through thirty generations of assassins, Storm Shadow and Snake-Eyes studied the secret arts of Ninjitsu, as well as other undisclosed practices. When the head of the ninja clan, Storm Shadow's uncle and mentor the Hard Master, was murdered, Storm Shadow himself was labeled the assassin. Unhinged by the false accusations, Storm Shadow took off in pursuit of the assailants. This eventually lead him to the terrorist organization known as Cobra. Storm Shadow infiltrated the group, serving as Cobra Commander's personal bodyguard until he could discover the truth surrounding his uncle's death. It was ultimately revealed that the assassin was Zartan, on orders of Cobra Commander, and that the intended target was Snake-Eyes. Storm Shadow was ultimately denied his revenge, realizing that his drive for revenge nearly consumed his soul and finding vengeance to be a poor substitute for life. He turned his back on the evil that nearly consumed him and sought out Snake-Eyes, which eventually led to part-time membership in G.I. Joe. When the G.I. Joe team was temporarily disbanded, Storm Shadow left for the solitude of the mountains in order to reflect on his past and gain a spiritual reawakening. In semi-retirement at his remote mountain hideaway, he occasionally takes on a special mission or two for the Joes- if they asked him nicely. When the Joes reformed full-time, they discovered that Storm Shadow was once again aligned with Cobra. Intelligence reports have confirmed that the ninja has undergone extensive, ongoing brainwashing from Dr. Mindbender under the direct supervision of Cobra Commander himself; it is still unknown how they initially captured Storm Shadow to begin the procedure. The Joes---Snake-Eyes in particular---are hopefully that they will one day be able to free Storm Shadow from the cloud that blinds his mind. It is a common concensus that you don't want to be in Cobra Commander's shoes the days this happens..... -------------------- Storm Shadow can scale sheer walls with his bare hands and feet, move with blinding speed, and endure unspeakable hardship and pain. Storm Shadow has an 8th degree black belt in five martial arts and is master of such esoteric techniques as the "Cloak of the Chameleon" and the "Screaming Whirlwind." His fighting skills are known throughout the world's martial arts community, from San Francisco's Chinatown to the most remote Tibetan village.
