Crying Freeman

It's amazing how the lesser known animes can be the most entertaining. The video series "Crying Freeman" is no different.
The series follows Freeman, a member of the Chinese crime syndicate, The 108 Dragons. A five video set chronicles his adventures in a world filled with espionage, assassinations, and secretive warfare.
As far as the story goes, Ran Tayan (Freeman) is seen by a woman while he makes a hit. Assigned to kill the woman, he instead brings her to the 108 Dragons. In a special ceremony, the two wed. However, Freeman's life as a syndicate hitman constantly keeps them apart. Baya-san (granddaughter of the leaders of the Dragons) becomes Freeman's constant assistant and bodyguard, although their first meeting results in Baya brutally beating Freeman to a pulp. Throughout the series, Freeman takes down rivals of the Dragons, including a man named God as well as the sultry Nina Heaven.
Now, for the content. I'll start off simply: It ain't for kids. There's at least one sex scene in each video, but that's not the best part. The violence isn't as graphic as something like Devil Man, but the way it's done is awesome! Freeman, for example, will actually grip a knife with his toes, cartwheel around, and slit open about six guy's necks.
The voice quality is great, and each voice matches the character almost perfectly. If extreme action is your thing, "Crying Freeman" is DEFINITELY a series for you.
Other info: Crying Freeman comes on five videos. Rent or buy, it's still a great anime.
