Trey Parker
Trey Parker
Trey Parker was born Donald McKay Parker III on May 30, 1972 in Auburn, Alabama. Trey was bitten by the entertainment bug at age seven when he was tagged as the baby mascot for Auburn University to hype up crowds at football games. He became really interested in the performing arts at age 10 when he played Christopher Robin in his hometown community theatre production of "Winnie the Pooh." At age 14, Trey spent the entire summer in New York City with a friend studying acting and taking dancing at the prestigious Broadway Dance Center. His summer classes led to professional work in Off-Broadway theatre and television commercials. He remained in New York and attended the High School of the Performing Arts and then the Professional Children's School for a while, but being separated from his family became difficult for everyone. To enable Trey to further pursue his burgeoning career, the Parker family relocated to Los Angeles when he was 15.
In Hollywood, talent scouts quickly began hiring him as a dancer/model for industrial trade shows for Adidas, Levis and Ocean Pacific, amongst others, with television roles on such national shows as Baywatch, Doogie Howser MD, Thirtysomething, and the NBC series Hull High following soon after. Trey also appeared in the Disney musical, Newsies and continues to get called in for theatrical opportunities.
In 1989 Parker and two friends, Damon Butler and David Loeffler, put together the vocal group E.Y.C. (Express Yourself Clearly). After opening for Prince and Whitney Houston, EYC set off on its own and quickly became one of the hottest male vocal groups in the international concert scene, releasing two albums and touring throughout the world. E.Y.C. recently has gotten back together and will release "I Feel It" in June of 1999. EYC is Trey's main focus right now and as he explains: "We love what we do. We want to go out there and be ourselves and play the music that will inspire an audience."
