![]() Welcome to my Profile of Tsukino Usagi![]() Welcome to my profile of Tsukino Usagi! If I am off on something or you have information that I should know please e-mail me, as I really don't like people who rave on about something when they have NO idea what they are talking about!! (And to be one of those people would be like a bad nightmare *shudder*!!) Anyway, I'm sure if you know my page you will know that Usagi is my favourite senshi ^_^ so yes I am slightly biased!!! Like most of the English speaking non-Japan living word I have a few problems with getting the anime/manga (or at least in English!) so I can only be as accurate as my sources. However I usually double check so you're probably safe ^_^, and if I find I'm wrong I'll be straight down here to fix it with an apology. Anyway, on with the show. This profile has stats and general information. Basically it is so you can hold an educated conversation on her without any major stuff ups or humiliating mistakes! Oh, and this profile isn't entirely finished yet, I have the bare facts but I've still got to put in attacks, transformations etc. Where there is a star * or cross + the information is down the bottom of the page, please read if you don't want to be confused.

Romantic Situation:Here's where it gets interesting! Usagi was engaged to the prince of earth, Endymion (a.k.a. Mamoru, Darien, Tuxedo Mask/Kamen...whatever!!) when she was the princess of the moon (Princess Serenity) in her former life. When the Moon Kingdom was destroyed and her and her love were killed, they were sent to Earth to find each other again in their new lives. Her and Mamoru did NOT get on at first, but after they regained their memories things went...well, kinda OK from then on!! Basically they date (on and off *sigh*) from about the middle of the second series...bypassing occasional dumpings, amnesia problems and trips to study in America from hell!Anyway they are both dedicated to each other (no, really!) and they discover in the future they are married and are the King and Queen of the Earth (Neo-King Endymion and Neo-Queen Serenity). They have a daughter, Chibi-Usa++ (a.k.a. Rini) who comes back from the future which Mamoru gets on with but Usagi does not! It should also be mentioned that Seiya Kou, one of the Sailor Starlights, is in love with her (along with a few of the villians, Diamond for example!) but nothing came of it (despite what some fanfic writers would have you believe... ^_^ ). Umingo (Melvin) also had a crush on her for a small amount of time as well. Despite what you may hear (and rumours abound among the ill-informed) she and Mamoru ARE devoted to each other. Before she was with Mamoru, she had a crush on Motoki (a.k.a. Andrew in dub) who worked in the arcade.
Personality:Well, our dear Usagi is a BIT flaky ^_^ but she is a good friend, a sweet person and we all love her! (So THERE Usagi bashers!!! ^_^) But seriously, Usagi is notoriously ditzy (quite a bit more so in the English dub as some of her strong points are down played. See episodes 45 & 46 in Japanese if you don't believe me!) and a bit of a crybaby at times. The great thing about her character is that she goes from being totally pathetic (you've all seen the first episode right?! ^_^) and a crybaby, to the strong and really beautiful person she shows in times of crisis later on. The thing is, we could all see her grow to meet her potential, and that was really great. I'm not saying she turns totally serious and responsible (LORD no!!!) but she learns to face her problems and stand up for herself and her friends. Usagi loves all of her friends and family and has often shown her willingness to put her life on the line for them. She has a deep love for her daughter Chibi-Usa and her future husband, Mamoru, and even though Chibi-Usa in particular would probably deny it at times ^_^ they both have a deep love for her because of the caring person she is.I get really annoyed when someone who has seen about 10 minutes of the show like, once comes up to me complaining about what a ditz she is (and I'm sure it's happened to you too!). However with Usagi I guess I can understand it because her courage isn?t something that is really obvious to someone just tuning in, she doesn't just come out and kick butt, especially for the first couple of series (ie. Only ones done in English!!). It is a more understated sort of courage that shows when everyone is counting on her to come through, and she always does. (Well, aside from those times where she sort of gets tied up or turned into a tennis ball or something...but she DOES come through in the end! ^_^). Anyone who has seen her stubbornly stand by Mamoru or her friends at the risk to herself, even in the first couple of series can see that. Usagi also has the biggest heart of just about anyone, she sees good in everyone, even her enemies (which is why a lot of them come around in the end ^_^). She is always willing to give someone another chance, and she trusts and believes in people. Despite the fact that she couldn't be on time to school to save her life (or cook to save someone else's ^_^) Usagi is generous where it counts, and always tries her best, and that is why I like her. Neo-Queen Serenity's character is also interesting in that we can see that Usagi has grown up, so we know that despite her bumblings now, she becomes a graceful and kind future ruler. This seems to put a lot of pressure on Usagi in the present (I'd like to see how YOU handled knowing you become the queen of the earth?!), however Usagi mostly seems to handle it along with Sailor Moon and her other incarnations.
If you thought she was slightly out to lunch at first (or maybe all through?) in the anime, though, she was off the planet in the manga. In the manga though she matures REALLY quickly and by god she goes through a lot in a short amount of time!! * Don't ask me! They seem to have a bit of trouble making up their minds on this one. I would love to know if it is Serena how Neo-Queen Serenity comes to be! Well, both forms of the name are used, I'm not going to go into all the details but let me say this isn't the only back flipping the DiC dub does. I personally use Serenity. ** Comes from Usagi which means 'rabbit' or 'bunny' in Japanese. And yes that's why Serena is always running around with rabbit bags or rabbit clothes...whatever. It's pretty much puns that you won't get if you don't know about that. This was kept in the manga to keep in the jokes probably, although I don't think it is played upon quite as much as the anime, go figure! *** Look, I hate to state the obvious for a lot of you, but just to let you know the last name in Japanese come FIRST, so Tsukino Usagi in Japanese would be Usagi Tsukino in English. Anyway, you already know Usagi means 'rabbit', Tsukino means 'Of the Moon' Thus Tsukino Usagi technically means 'rabbit of the moon' which is played upon quite a bit. Look at her bedspread sometime ^_^ see the pun? + Sometimes Princess or Neo-Queen Selenity...it depends on the translator. However I would say Serenity is the more common version of the name. This comes from the Japanese alphabet where they pretty much use 'r' for both 'r' and 'l'. Thus 're' would also be 'le'. The use of Selenity can also be traced back to the legend of Selene, goddess of the moon, and Endymion. ++ Yep, Chibi-Usa is short for small (chibi means small in Japanese) Usagi. She is named after Usagi, her mother and her full name according to the manga is Princess Usagi Small-Lady Serenity. Uh, right, whatever. Her nickname is Small Lady. So you see all the talk about Rini being 'the rabbit' actually MEANT something!! ^_^ Please don't get Chibi confused with Chiba (Mamoru's last name), the similarity may be some sort of play on words (believe me there are a LOT in Sailor Moon names) but don't get sucked in, it is Chibi-Usa, NOT Chiba Usa. Sweet as the idea is, it isn't true!!!!
