Heads are one of a kind barbie heads created by mattel staff members.  Costumes are custom couture designed and created by Sammy Carlo.   We introduced this idea to mattel at the meet the collectors meeting held on 3-13-92.  Our concept was to create Barbie as her favorite TV and movie star personalities.   As it happens the concept evolved into the actual facial features as the personalities barbie was depicting (i.e., Hollywood legends etc.).    We have always felt the first idea of  using barbie as each personality using existing faces was best.  See for your self these are simply
