Ida Eugene Arrington was born in Linwood, Alabama. Her Mama was Ida Corene Bates-Arrington and her Daddy was Marvin Eugene Arrington (hence the name Ida Eugene). Ida grew up a farmers daughter. She worked in the fields, the garden, learned to cook, clean and all the other chores involved with living on a small farm. She helped see after her 5 brothers: John Bradford, Willie Clyde, Wilbur Rex, Andrew Buford, Marvin Lamar (stillborn) and her sisters: Vera Elaine, Mary Lois, Ruby Frances and Phoebie Nell.
When she was a young lady, she left the farm to go live in the "big city" of Columbus, GA. She worked at Tom's Peanut Candy Factory for awhile.
She eventually met and married Edward Pastuszynski. They were married on May 30, 1949 in Columbus, GA. They moved to Ft Campbell, Kentucky where their daughter Debra was born on March 21, 1954.
In 1956 they moved back to Columbus and bought the house that she still lives in today. Edward passed away on May 6, 1993.
