The University

The University of Arid Agriculture (UAAR) was established at Muree Road, Rawalpindi on April 27, 1994, on the occasion of the first convocation of the Barani Agriculture College, Rawalpindi. The UAAR Bill, 1994 was passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on the 30th day of April, 1995 and assented to by the Governer of the Punjab on the 15th day of May, 1995, when it became, an Act of the Provincial Assembly.

Campus

University is housed in beautiful building, situated at Muree Road, Rawalpindi, almost in the middle of twin cities. Twin cities Rawalpindi/Islamabad are situated in the Potohar plateau of the Province of Punjab. Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. These are 1700 feet above the sea level. The population is about 0.8 million. The temperature in winter ranges from 0-25 C, spring 20-30 C. In summer maximum temperature could go up to 45 C. The rains fall during summer (July-August) because of Monson.

The campus also includes a research farm for experimentation. The University Institute of Management Sciences (UIMS) is situated on the south side of the building, newly established Block inaugrated by the caretaker Prime Minister of PAkistan Malik Miraj Khalid on January 30, 1997.

UIMS block a computer lab is established equiped with IBM-Intel MMX pentium machines, keeping in view the latest technology in mind. All machines are connected through networking.
