Ultra Symphony
Chapter 32- A burning kiss
Mikono's eyes widened, as the eerily light and glassy eyes of the Ultra stared into them, flying at her. She screamed and tried to shield her body from the sword coming at her, but it made contact with her shoulder and she felt a searing pain slice through her.
She fell to the ground, clutching herself in agony. The pink Ultra gracefully landed behind her.
"My Creator, what the hell kind of Ultra are you?" she asked, scoffing at the sight before her.
Mikono gritted her teeth, a fistful of dirt accumulating in her hand. She looked up with pain. "W...Who are you?!"
"A real warrior.. who doesn't waste time asking stupid questions!" The Ultra snarled, coming at Mikono again, this time with the sword in a stabbing position.
Mikono shrieked, rolling out of the way of the sword. She narrowly missed it this time, and managed to pull herself to her feet.
"Ah, so you've decided to stand and take your death like a man, hmm? That's nice. Really admirable. I'll make sure to remember it."
"But... you're an Ultra!" Mikono cried, suddenly feeling a warm sensation in her chest.
The Ultra grinned at her, and suddenly put her fingers to her lips. "Hard to understand, isn't it? Oh, don't worry your pretty little head about it." She suddenly walked over to Mikono, and removed her fingers from her lips, placing them on Mikono's lips.
"Wh...what?" Mikono asked, the Ultra's eyes suddenly seeming kind, mystical, understanding.
"You wanted my name?" She asked, her voice lowering. "I am Ultrasakura."
Mikono noticed that the air around her was growing difficult to breathe, almost smoky. "Wh......"
"Don't forget this, Ultrachibi85. I'm doing you a favor now."
Mikono blinked, and suddenly, Ultrasakura put her other hand on the back of Mikono's head, and whispered.
"Sakura burning petal no kiss..."
Suddenly, a white-hot energy shot into Mikono's body. She screamed and her body jolted with the power. Pink light flowed around the two of them as the rest of the surrounding area seemed to darken, a midnight blue.
Mikono gritted her teeth, trying to pull Sakura's fingers away from her lips. Sakura merely laughed. "You're pretty funny."
"You... y-...YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KILL ME!!!" Mikono shrieked, her voice shaking. She released her grip on Sakura's hand, and lightly touched her chest.
All at once, her body grew light, floating off the ground. Sakura found herself unable to hold her down, and then, suddenly, a powerful, cool, green energy replaced the stifling air, and Sakura was wrenched off of Mikono and the two were powerfully thrown apart.
As Mikono fell to the ground, she saw her color timer light up, and felt the tip of her guitar break through her body.
Oh my god! She thought, panicking. She remembered last time, as images of the green-tinted blood flowing out of her body flooded her mind.
The pain.. I felt like I was dead...
She looked over at Sakura, who was just getting to her feet.
But last time, I was so.. I was...
She looked back down, and felt her hand touch the guitar that was seamlessly ripping through her clothes.
"I...I can't be afraid anymore! I did it once...!"
Sakura snarled at her from across the way. "Damn you, you think you've won with that little pyrotechnics display?!" She began to charge at Mikono again.
Mikono glared at her, and with her temporary burst of courage, she gritted her teeth and wrapped her hands around the guitar, violently pulling. She screamed as she did it, feeling even more pain than before, seeing the blood spray out of her. Sakura continued charging, and Mikono gasped for a second before tilting backwards, the guitar suspended in her arms above her.
"Chibi 85.... GO!!!" She yelled before she hit the ground.
A series of green balls of light shot out of the guitar at Sakura, and she gracefully transformed as Sakura was thrown several feet backwards.
Chibi landed on tiptoe, and Sakura pushed herself into a standing position with one arm. She had a haunting smile on her face.
"Impressive, I didn't think you'd be able to do it all by yourself, Chibi! Now, I suppose I'll just have to live with with killing a fellow Ultra." Sakura said calmly. "No matter, I fight better when the stakes are even."
"I won't allow you to go any further!" Chibi cried, holding her guitar.
"And I don't recall asking your permission!" Sakura replied in a smooth voice. She unsheathed her sword, and held it out in front of her. It glowed light pink, and Chibi inhaled, clutching her guitar.
"Sakura death fragrence NUMBER SIX!!" Sakura cried wistfully, and a spiral essence of energy flowed out of the blade. It hit Chibi, and she screamed and fell backwards.
"D...Dammit!" Chibi angrily got up and picked up her guitar. "Chibi Electric Wave!" She exclaimed, swinging the guitar underneath her legs, and jumping onto it. She rode it into Sakura, and a large wave of green electricity knocked her down.
"Arggh!" Sakura snarled. "That's it! No one makes a mockery of Ultrasakura and lives!" She snatched up her sword and leapt into the air.
Suddenly, a blue surge of power pierced the sky, and Sakura lost her concentration, and clumsily landed on the ground.
Chibi couldn't help herself, and began hysterically laughing. "And you call ME a crappy fighter!!! Real warrior, my a--"
Sakura pushed herself back onto her feet, and looked around her. "Who the hell did that?! Oh, blue power, really convincing. That was the power of a... a human.." She looked frantically around her, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
Chibi shrugged. "Don't look at me..."
Suddenly, the blue power surge came again, and this time, it materialized into a blue beam of light between Sakura and Chibi. In the midst of the light stood a silhouette of a petite girl.
"What the hell is this?!" Sakura cried.
"I find it amusing, Sakura, that it was you that was the voice of reason at our last conference." A young voice whispered.
Sakura's eyes narrowed. "What..?!"
"What happened to being content to take it at the rate it's going, not making any ridiculously grandiose moves?"
Sakura was silent, scanning the blue energy beam. "This power is strong..."
Chibi backed up, having no idea what the hell was going on, and definitely not wanting to get involved in it.
"A little girl...?" Sakura said, slowly gaining understanding.
Suddenly, the blue power engulfed her, and she disappeared into a deep abyss.
Chibi stood there for a moment, silent and very very confused, before the blue and pink air disappeared and she found herself standing at the top of a hill, overlooking the city.
She heard a quiet hissing behind her, and turned around, only to be faced with the same little girl silhouette.
"I apologize for Ultrasakura's insolence. The desire for Earth is so strong among my people that they are prone to acting out in foolish ways."
Chibi cleared her throat. "I..I don't understand..."
"But you do. Better than any of the other Ultras, to be sure."
"Who.. who are you?"
"Who what you see before you is is of no importance. I am merely a shell for something much greater. As are you. That frail body of yours houses the most advanced technology any Ultra could create. We're alike, you and I. Much more than Zoffy wants you to know."
Zoffy?
"What do you know about Captain Zoffy?? Are you on our side?! Are you an Ultra too??"
"I'm afraid I can't say anymore, but please accept my apologies for Sakura's actions. You're far too valuable to me to kill, Ultrachibi 85."
The blue faded, and only Chibi remained on the hill, clutching her guitar.

"Come in." The Commander said casually. His dark red eyes stared straight ahead at a video screen, on which two dark blue Ultras fought to the death on a barren red planet.
The doors slid open, and Sakura strode in, standing angrily behind him.
"You knew about it?!" She demanded furiously.
He turned around, and looked down at the angry woman. "Ultrasakura, what can I do for you?"
"GODDAMMIT! Mistress Hinotama has her earth form." Sakura screamed.
"Mmm."
"A little girl!"
"Okay. Is this going anywhere?"
Sakura sighed, digging her nails into her palms. "I was made a fool of. Ultrachibi is our greatest enemy, for she houses the most power. I saw what a weakling she really is, and I was just about to destroy her."
"And what happened?!" The commander asked, suddenly interested.
"Mistress Hinotama came between us! I don't understand... I believe I was wrong when I said we have to take it slow. And I had the opportunity to kill Ultrachibi and cripple the entire Ultra force. Why did she stop me?! There is the prophecy, and it says that one Messiah will battle 10 of her people for the possession of one planet.. but..."
"You know the Mistress has followed that prophecy to the very bone... and I find it odd that you would even consider taking out Ultrachibi yourself."
"Does she still mean something to the Mistress?" Sakura asked sarcastically.
"I hope your burning petal kiss wasn't a sign of undying love."
Sakura snarled, and turned and left.
He chuckled behind her.
