STATS

INDIAN FARMHANDS WITH AN OPS OVER .800 (MIN 100 AT BATS)

Mike Edwards AA  1.016
Greg LaRocca AAA .904
Rickie Morton SS A .899
Ryan Church Low-A .892
Andy Baxter Adv R   .887
Victor Martinez HI-A .882
Luis Gonzalez HI-A  .872
Jon Van Every SS A .850
Karim Garcia AAA  .843
Nate Grindell AA     .815
Mark Lewis AAA     .801

Lewis is certainly past being a prospect, and LaRocca is 29 and doesn't seem to be in the Indians plans. Baxter and Morton were a little old for the leagues they were in so one can't get too carried away with their stats till they reach better and older competition. Garcia was a big time prospect once and seemed to regain his stroke as he had a torrid last couple of months at Buffalo and then continued hitting when he was called up to Cleveland. He's a strong bet to make the post season roster. Edward missed most of the year after shoulder surgery, but hit with authority when he came back for the last several weeks of the season. If his power surge isn't a mirage, he could soon be a viable candidate to take over third base in Cleveland if the Indians move Russell Branyan. Church, Martinez, Gonzalez, Van Every and possibly Grindell are the prospects in this group.
